It’s been a whirlwind year for Australia’s own Go-Jo.
After representing the country at Eurovision with his infectious hit Milkshake Man, a track that had crowds shouting “yum yum” in unison, this Western Australian artist has been riding a wave of international momentum. His pre-Eurovision promo tour saw him gain momentum across Europe, and the main event cemented his status as one of the most memorable acts of the contest.
Fresh off a string of sold-out shows across Australia, Go-Jo is now gearing up for a 15-date European tour.
Before he jetted off, we caught up with the Milkshake Man himself to chat about life after Eurovision, the tour ahead, and the exciting projects he’s got in the pipeline.
Congratulations on your national Milkshake Man Tour! You had sold out shows and guest artists made appearances, we have to say it was a great experience as fans of yours to go! How does it feel to reconnect with your fans?
It has been so amazing to see the reaction from fans. There are people who have been around for a long time and people who are brand new. We’ve met people from all over the world, including some who flew in from Japan just to see the shows. That really means the world to me. The shows have turned into such a great party, with so much going on, and it has made performing more fun than ever. The energy we get back from the people in the room has been out of this world. I’m so happy to be spending time with everyone who has supported me throughout the entire Eurovision journey.
This past year has been huge for you with Eurovision and all the touring. What’s one personal insight or lesson you’ve taken away from the experience?
I’ve learned so much as a performer. Eurovision really forces you to step up to a massive stage and bring a new level of professionalism. It was an amazing experience, especially with the amount of press and the way people got behind a song like Milkshake Man, which was always about self-expression and being your most true and authentic self. It reminded me that the best things I’ve ever created have come when I’ve been authentic. It has also been incredible to meet new audiences, and the fans from the Eurovision world are such amazing people.
Milkshake Man has been performing incredibly well on Spotify — charting in 33 countries after Eurovision and racking up over 12 million streams so far. How does it feel to see the song resonate with so many people around the world?
It has been amazing to see the reaction. There are so many ways to enjoy or interpret the song, but from the beginning we wanted to take a risk and push the envelope creatively — in terms of genre, lyrics, and overall energy. The response has been incredible, and that is a testament to the amazing writers and producers from Sheppard and Jay Bovino who helped bring it to life. At the end of the day, people have connected with it as a catchy track, but also on deeper levels. There’s obviously a cheeky message in there, but it is also something close to my heart.
We saw you interact with a lot of the Eurovision 2025 artists. Which Eurovision contestant/s have you kept in touch with the most since Basel?
Pretty much all of them. JJ, Sissal, Emmy, Parg, Red Sebastian. And with the European tour coming up, there’s a chance some of them could make an appearance along the way.
If you were chatting with another Aussie artist who was flirting with the idea of a tilt at Eurovision, what advice would you give them?
I’ve spoken to a lot of Aussie artists about it, and I always say that if Eurovision feels close to your heart or aligned to you, you should absolutely go for it. I can’t speak highly enough about how incredible the experience was for me. You make friends for life, you connect with beautiful people from all over the world, and you get to step onto one of the most prestigious stages in music. As long as you feel passionate about the angle that makes you uniquely you, there will be a spot for you.
We think you were absolutely robbed at Eurovision! If the opportunity came up, would you consider representing Australia again?
There’s amazing talent out there, and honestly Eurovision is never just about winning. It’s about connecting with people, creating something you’re proud of, and enjoying the journey. At first it was tough not to make the final, but in the blink of an eye the competition was over and I was left with an incredible new fan base and so much support from around the world. Straight away I was able to move into touring and selling tickets for amazing shows, which has been such a gift. So it’s hard to feel disappointed — I’m really not. If the opportunity ever comes again, of course I would love to go back and live that crazy experience one more time, but we’ll just have to see.
At your Brisbane show George Sheppard joined you on stage where you both performed an energetic rendition of Sheppard’s huge hit Geronimo. You worked with Sheppard on Milkshake Man, and they joined you in Basel for Eurovision. How was it working alongside George and the band?
George is a powerhouse and working with Sheppard felt like plugging into a rocket ship — they just lift you higher. Having them on the Eurovision journey with me was such a gift. They’re not just collaborators, they’re family.

During your Aussie shows you teased your next single release! You mentioned that you have teamed up with a Eurovision artist for it. Give us the tea!!! What can you tell us?
It’s a very exciting song that definitely lives in a similar world to Milkshake Man. It’s chaotic, full of energy, and I’m so proud of the collaborator who joined me on it. They’re an amazing performer with twice as much energy as me, and an amazing person inside and out. The track is fun, sexy, and completely wild. I think people are going to be blown away.
You are embarking on a big European Tour in the fall. What can your European fans expect from your upcoming shows?
I’m so proud of the show we built in Australia, and I can promise absolute chaos across Europe. I’ve been lucky enough to tour there before, and the fans are incredible, but this will be the first time I get to bring my full headline show. Expect parties every night with singing, dancing, surprises, props, outfit changes, you name it. It’s going to be the most fun I’ve ever had on stage, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone.
What else is coming up for Go-Jo before the year wraps up?
We’ve been doing so many crazy things. After touring Australia and heading to Europe, we’ll also be stopping through Asia. I’ll spend a short time in Los Angeles working on new music before coming back for a huge announcement, I’ll be touring with a massive artist and playing stadiums across Australia, which is surreal. There will be new music, festival appearances, and plenty of surprises along the way. We just did a livestream on a pirate ship, and you can expect more weird and wonderful things like that. Honestly, it’s wild to look around at everything happening right now, but I’m so grateful to be in the middle of it all and I have the Eurovision world to thank for a big part of it.
Thank you so much for your time answering our questions and for being a fantastic representative for Australia at Eurovision!! It’s been an absolute delight and enjoy the European tour!
