French Eurovision Star Amir Teams up with Aussie Pop Icon Sia for a remix of '1 + 1'

Amir Haddad, the Eurovision representative for France in 2016, has teamed up with Australian superstar Sia on a version of the song ‘1 + 1’ from Sia’s most recent album ‘Music – Songs from and Inspired by the Motion Picture’.

The new release is a remix by the Canadian production duo Banx & Ranx, and features vocals in French and English by Amir.

Amir is a Paris born singer songwriter. He lived in Tel Aviv from the age of 8 when his family relocated, and in 2006 entered the Israeli version of Pop Idol ‘A Star is Born’. In 2014 he entered The Voice in France, where he finished third in the final.

In 2016 Amir was internally selected to represent France at Eurovision with the song ‘J'ai cherché’, which he co-wrote with Nazim Khaled and Johan Errami. He finished in sixth place in the final – France’s best result since 2002.

Since 2016 Amir has kept up his Eurovision involvement in France. In 2017 he was one of the compares for the televised final on French TV, and in 2018 and 2021 he was a jury member for the French National Final. In 2020 he was also a co-writer on the song ‘Mon alliée (The Best in Me)’, which was internally selected along with performer Tom Leeb to represent France at the contest.

Sia is an Australian singer songwriter from Adelaide in South Australia. She has released nine albums since her debut in 1997 and has written hits for some of the world’s biggest stars, including Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Britney Spears. Although she retired as a recording artist herself in 2011 due to discomfort with her growing fame, she recorded vocals for ‘Titanium’, a song she co-wrote with David Guetta, which went on to become a world-wide smash hit. With demand for her to return to recording, she began performing without showing her face, and has since released another four albums.

Sia’s latest album features songs she wrote for the film 'Music’, which she co-wrote and directed. The film stars Kate Hudson, Leslie Odom Jr. and Maddie Ziegler and opened in Australian cinemas in January. It is now available to stream on Google Play, Apple TV and Amazon Prime.

The Banx and Ranx Remix of '1+1' featuring Amir is available on iTunes and Google Play, and available to stream Spotify, Apple Music
