This former Junior Eurovision star is now the up-and-coming alt-pop artist, Bobi Andonov, and he has released his highly anticipated debut EP 'IN BAD COMPANY'.

The Australian-Macedonian singer represented North Macedonia with the song ‘Prati Mi SMS’ at Junior Eurovision 2008, 15 years ago, where he finished in 5th place. It remains one of the most success Junior Eurovision entries from the landlocked Balkan nation.

Behind the body of work, Bobi shares:

"'IN BAD COMPANY' is about where desire dances alongside the repercussions of our choices and the inner conflicts one has with oneself. I watched a lot of films during the making of the EP, creating the tracks while having films projected on screen in the background to help with the tone of this project. This EP is only the beginning and is a prelude to the artist I see myself becoming.”

Written and recorded between his Bobi's homes in Los Angeles and Melbourne, the young artist drew inspiration from the world around him. He purposefully immersed himself in the old LA home of Frank Sinatra where he once lived with Marilyn Monroe, writing half of the EP in the halls of music history.

“The architecture and interior felt like a time capsule and added to the inspiration of songs ‘LATE TEXT’ and 'FREEFORM'”.

Bobi also worked with producer Dylan Bauld on his debut EP; a sentimental, full-circle moment as Bauld produced Bobi’s first single 'Apartment' in 2017.

Bobi is inspired by pop iconoclasts such as Terence Trent D'Arby, and Michael Hutchence and influenced by contemporary artists like Jai Paul, Childish Gambino, and Tame Impala.

'IN BAD COMPANY' continues Bobi's evolution with new releases produced by the likes of Ilya (Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and recently Sam Smith's and Kim Petras 'Unholy'), Rykeyz, and the aforementioned, Dylan Bauld. The feelings contained in this new project ring raw and true feelings, alternating between devotion and defiance.

Lifted from the EP is the new single 'GUILTY'; a release in which Bobi describes as “highlighting the captivating allure of mystery”. An artist who effortlessly balances themes of desire and darkness, ‘GUILTY’ elevates Bobi’s intricate storytelling and innate talent for blending infectious alt-pop soundscapes.
