Five artists have been shortlisted to represent Greece at Eurovision 2022



This week the Greek broadcaster ERT has confirmed five artists that they have shortlisted to represent Greece at Eurovision 2022 in Turin.


At this year's Eurovision Song Contest, Stefania secured Greece a top 10 finish in the Grand Final in Rotterdam with her entry 'Last Dance'. Greece's 10th place finish is a return to form, having last reached the top 10 in 2013 when 'Alcohol Is Free' by Koza Mostra featuring Agathonas Iakovidis reached 6th place.


ERT would be hoping to replicate their success.


The song entries that the five artists presented to ERT for Eurovision 2022 have not been released.


The five selected shortlisted artists are:


Amanda Georgiadi


Amanda Georgiadi (also known as Amanda Tenfjord) is a 24-year-old Greek singer and song-writer who is half Greek and half Norwegian. She is currently studying medicine to be a doctor while pursuing a career in music. Her most recent release was a collaboration with Thomas Dybdahl, 'Promises'.

good job nicky (Nikolas Varthakouris) is an upcoming 26-year-old singer who is signed with Cobalt Music. So far his music releases can be best described as alternative pop, along with his bold music videos good job nicky has become a bit of a fashionista. The team behind his entry includes Fokas Evangelinos and others from the "Dream Team" who also worked on Stefania's entry this year.



Joanna Drigo

Joanna (Ioanna Drigopoulou) is a young upcoming singer and songwriter who sings in both Greek and English with a pop rock indie sound, with some of her music easily set for a radio station like Triple J. She is with the record label Cobalt Eclectic. Recently she collaborated with Spring T(h)ree, a group of ambitious and visionary music producers, their team effort resulted in her most recent single 'Foolish Game'.

Ilias Kozas


Ilias represented Greece as part of his band Koza Mostra at Eurovision 2013 with 'Alcohol Is Free' which finished in 6th place, Greece's best result since Kalomira came third at Eurovision 2008 with 'Secret Combination'. He is the founder of the Greek rock band Koza Mostra who formed in 2011. The band's songs are ska, punk rock mixed with traditional Greek music.




Lou is


Lou (Louiza Sofianopoulou) has a stellar music career having worked with the giants in the Greek music industry like Eleni Vitali, Dimitra Galani and Giannis Kotsiras just to name a few and also has her own record label, The Hubsters. Just this year she released her first song with her label called 'In The Rain' shown above.


Greece's Eurovision 2022 artist will be internally selected. According to the Eurovisionfun site the final decision on the artist that will represent Greece at Eurovision 2022 is expected to be made by the end of the year.


Greece made their Eurovision debut in 1974. Over the decades they had various degrees of success until 2001 when Greece finished in third place with Antique’s '(I Would) Die For You' and then on managed to stay in the top 10 for most of the decade and also won the Contest for the first time in 2005 with Helena Paparizou’s 'My Number One'.
