Eurovision stars Måneskin win "Best Rock" at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards

Eurovision 2021 winners, Måneskin have won a MTV Video Music Award in the "Best Rock" category for their 2022 release 'The Loneliest'.

The Italian group were up against some big names in rock, they included:

Foo Fighters - 'The Teacher'
Linkin Park - 'Lost (Original Version)'
Red Hot Chili Peppers - 'Tippa My Tongue'
Metallica - 'Lux Æterna'
Muse - 'You Make Me Feel Like It’s Halloween'

'The Loneliest' charted across the world peaking at No. 1 in Italy and Belgium and reaching No. 75 on the Billboard Global 200.

Måneskin were also nominated in the "Group of the Year" category with pop girl group BLACKPINK taking the win this year.

The band also performed live at the awards show with their energetic new single 'Honey (Are U Coming?)'. The song was released only a couple weeks ago on September 1.

Måneskin are no strangers to the MTV awards. After their Eurovision win for Italy in 2021 the group were nominated at the MTV Europe Music Awards in the 'Best Group', 'Best Rock' and 'Best Italian Act' categories winning the award for 'Best Rock'.

In last year's MTV Video Music Awards they were nominated in the "Best New Artist", "Best Alternative" and "Group of the Year" categories. They took home the "Best Alternative" award for their hit single 'I Wanna Be Your Slave'.

Also last year they were nominated in the MTV Europe Music Awards for "Best Rock" and "Best Italian Act" and won the award for best "Best New Artist Video – International" for 'Supermodel' at the 'MTV Video Music Awards Japan'.

On top of all their MTV awards nominations and wins Måneskin were nominated for their first Grammy just this year for 'Best New Artist'.

The Italian band are currently on their 'Rush! World Tour' which will be taking them to Australia in SOLD OUT shows. Check out all their show dates from North and South America to Asia here.

Måneskin weren't the only past Eurovision artists at the 2023 MTV VMAs. UK Eurovision 2022 runner-up Sam Ryder was nominated in the "Push Performance of the Year" category for his heartfelt rendition of 'All the Way Over' taken off his UK No. 1 album 'There's Nothing but Space, Man!'.

Sam missed out on the win to the song 'Sugar Rush Ride' by Tomorrow X Together.
