'Eurovision - Australia Decides' 2022 artist Jaguar Jonze has just released her next single, 'CUT'.
The single release comes months after the Australian broadcaster SBS revealed Jaguar Jonze as one of the first set of artists announced for 'Eurovision - Australia Decides' 2022.
Back in mid December in an interview with Aussievision Jaguar Jonze confirmed that she would be releasing a new song (today's release 'CUT') before she releases her Australia Decides entry as a little gift. Her Australia Decides entry for the competition will be revealed at a later date.
Like her previous single 'WHO DIED AND MADE YOU KING?', Jonze's new single 'CUT' is raw, unapologetic and sends a very clear message. Jonze wears her heart on her sleeve and she isn't holding back on how she feels.
In CUT, I wanted people to feel the desperation and determination to CUT yourself off from toxic, manipulative, gaslighting relationships in any environment, once you've realised what has been happening to you.
The song has been recorded as part of her forthcoming, yet to be named album. As for the music video, Jonze designed its concept, as well as producing and directing it. Jonze is one multi-talented artist, is there nothing she can't do?
This new album cycle has seen me direct, produce and edit all my music videos and I'm loving learning this new medium to express my emotions and to tell stories.
In other huge news Jaguar Jonze has been nominated in the 'Best Australian Solo Act' category among some formidable names in the Australian Music industry: Genesis Owusu, The Kid LAROI, Tkay Maidza and Baker Boy. The NME Awards started in 1958 in the UK by music magazine New Musical Express. The 2022 awards are to be held in March.
Jaguar Jonze has two songs in the Triple J Hottest 100 voting list, 'WHO DIED AND MADE YOU KING?' and 'Curled In'. If one of Jonze's songs can make it into the countdown, this will be a first for her - so make sure you get your votes in before January 17.
The countdown will be held on Saturday January 22.
‘CUT’ is available now on iTunes and streaming on Spotify and Apple Music.
