Bangladesh is preparing to make its Eurovision Asia debut, with vocal group Beatmosphere set to represent the country at the inaugural Contest in Bangkok, Thailand.

But who is the group behind the name, and how did they earn the chance to represent their country?

Here’s everything we know about Beatmosphere's journey to Eurovision Asia 2026.

Who are Beatmosphere?

Beatmosphere is a genre-bending, a cappella and beatbox performance group from Dhaka, Bangladesh originally formed in 2009.

They blend traditional vocal harmony with beatboxing, recreating drums, basslines and melodies without relying on instruments.

Normally a nine-member ensemble, for Eurovision Asia they will perform their song Tumi Ele as a six-member group. Over the years the group has gone through many line up changes.

On stage in Bangkok you'll see Ishtiyak Zobayer (Zardo) and Sayed Ahnaf Tahmid (Glizmo) on lead vocals and harmony, along with Sidratul Mursalin Bhasha (Bhasha) who is a classically trained vocalist and Mahi Bin Ashraful (Sykoverse) on harmony. Further harmonies will come from Moktadir Dewan (BeatBaksho), also on vocal bass and baritone, while Mahi Hossain Khan (Invalíd) will be providing beatbox and vocal percussion.

The group provides an opportunity for members to discover different sides of their musical abilities. For example, Zardo developed into one of the lead vocalists despite previously being less known for his singing, while Sykoverse incorporates vocal sounds that imitate instruments, including an air guitar, into the group's performances.

Beatmosphere's members also bring individual achievements to the group. Former member Rafiun Nabi Nahin was Bangladesh's first national beatbox champion, winning the BattleBoxBD competition in both 2017 and 2018. Another member, Khandaker Shams (Anarchy), followed this by winning the competition in 2019 and 2020.

The group's discography is small, only releasing two songs so far, Shob Kichu Bhalo Lage and their Eurovision Asia song Tumi Ele, both released in September 2026. Instead, the group focuses on their live performances.

Beatmosphere are big fans of the Eurovision Song Contest and are able to cite other a capella entries over the years at Eurovision. The group are also fans of Måneskin and our very own Delta Goodrem. Beatmosphere have even released their own version of Måneskin's hit Beggin'.

About the song Tumi Ele

The songwriters behind Tumi Ele are listed as Ishtiyak Zobayer, Khandaker Shams, Mahi Bin Ashraful, Moktadir Dewan and Sidratul Mursalin Bhasha.

Tumi Ele means "you came" and is Bengali-language love song about the arrival of someone who brings colour and light into another person's life. Translated into English, one of the verses is:

"All the days I spent waiting

Today you came from behind the curtain

A life trapped in black and white

You coloured it with your touch

All my longing disappeared

Because today, you became mine."

In an interview with Eurovoix, Beatmosphere said that they could have picked a folk song and performed a song that represents Bangladesh but wanted to do something they were good at, which is a cappella and beatboxing. The group also said that they are beatboxers first, and an a cappella singing group next, and have actually won competitions with beatboxing.

“We want to break the barrier of ‘a cappella doesn’t have a space in Eurovision’. It’s not a party trick. We make music.”

Instead of trying to fit into an established Eurovision sound, they want to demonstrate that vocal music can be just as musically substantial and entertaining as performances featuring conventional instruments.

Rather than relying on traditional instruments in the song, Tumi Ele showcases the different vocal abilities of all six performers. Each member contributes a different element to the song, from the layered harmonies and vocal bass to the beatboxing and vocal percussion.

How was Beatmosphere selected for Eurovision Asia 2026?

Beatmosphere won Bangladesh's "Voice of Bangladesh" national selection with Tumi Ele on 30 September 2026. The 10-song Grand Final was held at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka, Bangladesh's largest event venue, and was broadcast on Bongo and NTV.

The group came out on top following a combination of voting from a professional jury, the Bangladeshi public and viewers around the world. The professional jury accounted for 40% of the result, with another 40% coming from the Bangladeshi public and the remaining 20% from the Rest of the World vote.

The win earned Beatmosphere the right to become Bangladesh's first representatives at the Eurovision Song Contest Asia, where they will perform in Bangkok.
