Eurovision 2024 artist Silia Kapsis has released her latest single 'Night Out'.

The announcement made it the second year in a row that an artist from Australia with a Cypriot background was selected to be represent Cyprus at Eurovision, after Sydney-born Andrew Lambrou was chosen for Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool.

Silia's latest release, 'Night Out', is officially her fourth single after dropping 'Who Am I?' in 2022, and 'No Boys Allowed' and 'Disco Dancer' earlier this year.

'Night Out', which was recorded in Sydney, was co-written by Silia and Bish Malik (also known as Royal). Bish previously collaborated with Silia on her 'No Boys Allowed' and 'Disco Dancer' singles.

Silia is currently working hard preparing for Eurovision 2024, with her Eurovision song being penned by Greek composer and producer Dimitris Kontopoulos who has written many Eurovision hits including Stefania's 'Last Dance' for Greece in 2021. Her Eurovision song is set to be released at a later date.

We managed to have a quick chat to Silia about her 'Night Out' song release.

We are so excited for the release of your new single ‘Night Out’. You have delivered yet another bop!! We love it! Can you tell us a bit about the inspiration for ‘Night Out’, and the team behind it?

"Thank you for your support on my new single ‘Night Out'. This one is truly a bop! It’s a feel-good song, a story about innocent teenage love.

"I’m really inspired by R&B music, so I had a specific R&B/POP style for 'Night Out' in my head. I got to the recording studio and I said to my producer, “this is where we are going with this one.” Together, we went through some soulful melodies/chords, cool beats that resonated with me. We then just started writing the lyrics to the song.

Regarding the story, I had this idea, I wanted it to be a sweet teenage love story, a sweet connection, a song about innocent teenage love. I pictured it in my head, me hanging out with my girlfriends and expectantly the boy comes along and pretty much changes my direction."

Your previous music videos look like so much fun, what was it like filming the music video for ‘Night Out’?

"The 'Night Out' music video was filmed in downtown Los Angeles.

"I travel to Los Angeles on a regular basis and have made some wonderful connections and have many talented friends. When I film my music videos in Los Angeles, it just gives off another vibe altogether.

"Filming 'Night Out', was the best! I mean, you hear the lyrics to the song, but then you see the story and it all comes to life. I’m a very visual person, so the 'Night Out' music video completes the song for me.

"'Night Out' was filmed in one day, it was so surreal seeing the whole project just come together. It’s exciting and it makes me feel like wow, I’m doing this and I’m learning from this, but most of all I love it, I love what I do!

"When filming, we work extremely hard on set but we also don’t forget to have a good time, this is important to me.

"I used the same amazing crew (that filmed 'Disco Dancer' and 'No Boys Allowed') and the cast involved in my music videos are close friends. This makes the process of filming so much more fun and I feel like there is more of a connection this way.

"I feel blessed to call my cast and crew my friends, I call them my Los Angeles Dream Team -they are all amazingly talented human beings! Can’t wait for you guys to see it!"

'Night Out' is now available on music streaming platforms and for digital download.
