The winner of the national final will earn the right to represent Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool in May 2023. Estonia will compete in one of two semi-finals at Eurovision for a place in the Contest's final.

The 'Eesti Laul 2023' semi-finals will take place on January 12 & 14 2023 (morning of January 13 & 15 2023 in Australia), in the newly-constructed Viimsi Artium.

Ten songs will progress from the semi-finals to the final on Saturday February 11 2023 (morning of Sunday February 12 2023 in Australia) at the Tondiraba Ice Hall.

The results of the final will be determined using two rounds of voting. In the first round, 50% of the points will be allocated by a professional jury vote and 50% will be allocated by public vote, with the second round of voting consisting of a 100% televote superfinal of the top 3 songs at the conclusion of the first round of voting. The winner will become Estonia's representative at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.
