ESC250 2023: Results by numbers




The Eurovision Top 250 countdown is over for another year and we have a new winner!



That wasn't the only interesting results to come out of the 2023 ESC250 countdown.


We've crunched some numbers. Check out what we found:



Countries with the most entries




Which countries featured the most? Italy was the winner with 16 entries with Måneskin's 'Zitti e buoni' being their highest entry in 6th place.


Greece had 14 entries with their highest song placed at No. 21 with Helena Paparizou's 'My Number One'. Sweden's had the third highest entries with 13 and the highest entry was 'Tattoo' by Loreen at No. 2. The number of Swedish entries has been dropping the last few years from 25 in 2021 and 17 just last year. However three Swedish entries did make the top 5, an incredible feat!

Three Australian songs made the list! Voyager made their debut with 'Promise' at No. 66, Kate Miller-Heidke's 'Zero Gravity' dropped 28 spots to No. 158 and Dami Im's 'Sound of Silence' remains in the top 50 at No. 50.

Which decade had the most entries?




Well it's no surprise that the most recent full decade, the 2010s, came out comfortably on top.

This years ESC250 had 26 Eurovision 2023 songs, out of the 37 who competed in Liverpool. Voyager came in at No. 66, 'Promise' was the 14th highest of this year's Contest.

The oldest entry on the ESC250 is the 1958 entry 'Nel blu dipinto di blu' by Domenico Modugno from Italy. It finished at No. 204 (jumping up 32 spots). It has been the the oldest entry year after year since 2012.

Risers of the ESC250


The highest riser comes from Israel with 'Be Happy' by PingPong from 2000 climbing 794 spots to No. 235.

  • AWS - 'Viszlát nyár' (Hungary, 2018) Up 29 [94th to 65th]

The biggest jump into the top 20 came from Hatari's 'Hatrið Mun Sigra' which saw it return to the top 20 jumping from 32nd place to 15th place. It was last in the top 20 in 2019 where it made its debut at No. 13.



Biggest drops on the ESC250





The song that fell rather hard down the list was 'That's Rich' by Brooke from Ireland. It fell 127 places. The top 20 songs with the biggest drop on the ESC250 2022 are:

New winner of the ESC250


Käärijä's win this year makes 'Cha Cha Cha' the seventh song to ever win the prestigious ESC250 crown within the fandom.


It is the second win from Finland. They won the inaugural ESC250 back in 2007 with Monica Aselund's 1977 entry 'Lapponia'!
