Diljá to represent Iceland at Eurovision 2023 with 'Power'



Diljá has won Söngvakeppnin with ‘Power' and will represent Iceland at Eurovision 2023. They defeated Langi Seli og Skuggarnir in the second round final.



The results were decided over two rounds of voting.


The first round results were determined by a 50/50 split between a jury and a public vote. The two acts with the highest score progressed to the second round. In the second round a further round of public televoting was held, with the winner chosen by aggregating the results of the first round to the votes received in the second round.

Diljá - ‘Power’ - Qualified Langi Seli og Skuggarnir - ‘OK - Qualified

Bragi - ‘Sometimes the World's Against You’ - Eliminated

Celebs - ‘Doomsday Dancing’ - Eliminated

Sigga Ózk - ‘Dancing Lonely’ - Eliminated

Diljá has been performing since she was 12 when she competed in Iceland’s Got Talent in 2015.





Iceland is the only Nordic country that has not won the Eurovision Song Contest. They have competed 34 times since their debut in 1986. Iceland's best result are two second-place finishes with Selma in 1999 with 'All Out of Luck' and Yohanna in 2009 with 'Is It True?'. Last year Iceland were represented by Systur with 'Með hækkandi sól' which finished in 23rd place.


Diljá will be performing in the first half of semi-final 2 at Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool.
