Eurovision Song Contest 2016 runner up and former X Factor winner Dami Im is set to release her new single release ‘Paper Dragon’ through ABC Music on September 18.
‘Paper Dragon’ will be Dami Im’s fourth single release this year.
Just days the 2020 new year she released ‘Kiss You Anyway’. Dami also went on to release ‘Marching On’ and ‘Walk Away’ a duet with Sweden’s Eurovision 2015 winner Måns Zelmerlöw, just before ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides 2020’, back in February (which strangely feels like a lifetime away now).
At ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides 2020’ Dami Im delighted us all with live performances of ‘Marching On’ and ‘Walk Away’ with Måns Zelmerlöw, who was there as a special guest and Australia Decides jury member.
Last week Dami Im was a special guest in a chat with ‘Eurovision - Australia Decides 2019’ band Sheppard on Instagram ‘Hump Day Hangouts with @damiim’.
They discussed the first time they met at a corporate gig in Hawaii, and Dami’s unfortunate dog attack last week.
Dami Im and Sheppard also discussed music and of course Eurovision!
Sheppard asked Dami about what Eurovision was like, and also asked her how it feel coming so close to winning the whole thing, back in 2016, when Dami Im represented Australia with ‘Sound of Silence’.
“It was just the most eye opening experience, … Eurovision has such a long history, so they’ve go this huge culture around it where the people the fans that are in that whole city they live and breath Eurovision. And it was like another planet, just about Eurovision… really like “Eurovision-land”.
She also explained that Australia Decides is very similar to Eurovision but on a smaller scale.
“It was really really intense as well, like I was so exhausted by the end of it… it wasn’t just all fun, it needed so much energy. I couldn’t compare it to anything else, it was like the Olympics.”
Dami Im also announced today that she will launching the single with shows in Queensland!
