Coronavirus - Cancelled Eurovision events update

Much of the world has put limits on public events, travel between nations as well as other restrictions of public movement.

Because of this a number of pre-Eurovision events have been cancelled or postponed.

These include:

Australia

  • OGAE Australia Preview parties with Hera Bjork schedule for 1 April (Brisbane), 3 April (Sydney) and 5 April (Melbourne) have been cancelled.

  • Eurovision Down Under Conference due to be held by the University of Sydney from 15-17 April has been cancelled.

  • With the ban of events of 500 people or more in Australia many gigs by Eurovision artists (including Montaigne) have or will be cancelled. Check with individual providers.

Europe

Preview parties:

  • Eurovision in Concert due to be held in Amsterdam on 4 April - cancelled

  • Israel Calling - cancelled

  • Spain’s PrePartyES 2020 scheduled for April 10/11 - cancelled (or postponed if Eurovision is moved to a later date)

  • London Eurovision Party scheduled for 31st March - reviewing options

Eurovision Song Contest

Netherlands currently has a ban on all events with more than 100 people until April 6.

April 6 is also the planned date to make an announcement on the Eurovision Song Contest.

It may go ahead as usual, without a live audience or with performances televised in from each participating nation. And of course it may be cancelled outright.

Your travel

Australians obviously spend a lot of money travelling and planning trips. We advise you to contact your airline, accommodation or other travel provider to understand where you stand IF you need to cancel.

As it stands now all overseas travel is advised against by the Australian government unless needed. However this is an ever changing event and the competition is almost two months away.
