Austria: LUM!X and Pia Maria release their song ‘Halo' for Eurovision 2022

Austria's Eurovision 2022 representatives LUM!X and Pia Maria have released their song ‘Halo’.

The pair were announced by Austrian broadcaster ORF to represent Austria back in early February.

LUM!X is a DJ, born Luca Michlmayr. He began producing music at 11-years-old, and is currently one of Austria’s most successful artists.

The son of an Italian mother, he used to live in the host city of Turin, and so the Eurovision Song Contest represents a true highlight for the young artist.

Pia Maria is a 18-year-old singer songwriter from Tyrol. She is the main vocalist on the track,

'Halo' is written by Anders Nilsen, Gabriele Ponte, Luca Michlmayr, Rasmus Flyckt and Sophie Alexandra Tweed-Simmons.

Austria will be competing in the second half of first semi-final for Eurovision 2022.

Austria made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957. They have provided Eurovision with two wins in their history. Their first win was in 1966 with Udo Jürgens and his song ‘Merci, Chérie’, and then more recently in 2014 with Conchita Wurst’s ‘Rise Like a Phoenix’.
