Australia selects Kylie Minogue for the OGAE Song Contest 2022

The International Eurovision Fan Group OGAE has been holding the OGAE Song Contest each year since 1986.


The contest sees OGAE national clubs enter an original song from their nation released in the previous 12 months and sung in one of the country's official languages.


The OGAE Australia club has been busy over the last month shortlisting songs for members to vote on and today the results were released.


Kylie Minogue's song 'A Second to Midnight’ with Years & Years was selected to represent Australia in 2022.

'A Second To Midnight' was released in October 2021 as the first single off the reissued 'Disco' album by Kylie Minogue, 'Disco: Guest List Edition'. The song is a duet with Olly Alexander who performs it under his solo project name Years & Years. The song managed to reach No. 1 on the UK Physical Singles chart and the US Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart at No. 26.


This song is the second collaboration between the pair, the first being 'Starstruck' back in April 2021.

The OGAE Song Contest will be hosted by the Australian club after they won in 2021 with Tones and I's 'Fly Away'. It was Australia's second win ever in the OGAE Song Contest. Australia last won in 2017 when Eurovision royalty Dami Im took the trophy with the song 'Fighting for Love'.


Voting in the contest will be done through the official fan clubs.
