About the artist
Seann is well known to fans in both the United Kingdom and Australia thanks to appearances on two TV competition.
He successfully auditioned for the 12th season of the 'X Factor UK" in 2015. His audition performance of Queen's 'The Show Must Go On' earned rapturous applause from the studio audience, reduced Rita Ora to tears and managed to get notoriously hard-to-please judge Simon Cowell on his feet. As of today it has amassed 20 million views on YouTube!
He also appeared on season 10 of 'The Voice Australia' in 2021. The performer turned four chairs with his rendition of Andrea Bocelli's 'The Prayer'. Although he knew Rita Ora, who was on the judging panel from his time on 'The X Factor', Seann chose to be mentored by former Eurovision contestant Jessica Mauboy.
Seann cut his performing teeth in musical theatre. He is a graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, the same school that honed the talents of world-renowned performers like Hugh Jackman and Tim Minchin. Before departing for the UK, he performed in productions of 'Sweet Charity', 'The King and I' and 'Rent', in which he played the genderfluid street-drummer Angel.
About the song - 'My Body'
The song was matched with Seann after it was entered into the Australia Decides song portal by the 'No Frils Twins'.
Seann told us about being matched with the song, saying,
"There were some some gorgeous submissions from all around Australia. One of the songs selected was 'My Body' written by the fabulous indie artists, No Frills Twins. The Eurovision team, Paul and the team were like, "We'd love for you to be involved". And I was like, "Wait, hold on me?". Okay, um, I was like, "Can I sing my own song and they're like, look, we'll get to your song, once you win it you can release the song you want, but we'd love for you to sing 'My Body'. I listened to it, fell in love with the song, fell in love with the lyrics and reworked it with gorgeous Sean Carey."
