Singer-songwriter Antigoni has been internally selected as Cyprus's representative at Eurovision 2026.
The announcement was made in a joint post on Antigoni's and various Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CyBc) Instagram accounts.
Antigoni, whose last name is Buxton, was born and raised in North London, and has Greek Cypriot roots.
In 2022 she competed on the eighth season of the British version of Love Island. However she was one of the first contestants "dumped" from the program.
Antigoni's YouTube channel states that she has "been developing a powerfully original sound that incorporates her cultural roots with her city based surroundings" and that there is "the contrasting influence of Hip-Hop, Pop and Bouzouki music all in a single track of hers."
Antigoni's song for Eurovision will be announced a later date.
