'Eurovision - Australia Decides' 2019 artist Alfie Arcuri has featured in an interview with DNA, Australia's best-selling LGBTQIA+ magazine, where he talked about a relationship breakup, his recent music release 'OVERTIME' and Eurovision!

The 34-year-old shared his ambition about going to Eurovision:

"One of my dreams is to represent some country at Eurovision. I have written so many songs for it. I wrote about five songs last year and then everything went to shit with my back, and I had surgery in February."

Last year the singer songwriter travelled throughout Europe after competing in the prestigious international ‘New Wave Festival 2021’ in Sochi. During his time overseas Alfie injured himself after falling two metres, causing him to shatter his spinal discs leading to him to suffer from severe sciatica. The singer underwent various surgeries to eliminate the pain.

When asked about the prospect of competing at Eurovision 2023 Alfie revealed:

"We’re talking to people. You can represent so many different countries. I’ve got agents affiliated with a couple of different countries – San Marino, Sweden and Romania. They could also be for other artists. I wrote one for Cyprus one year. That’s a goal. My friend Sheldon Riley just represented Australia last year. It’s something I would like to do."

Alfie competed at the inaugural 'Eurovision - Australia Decides' in 2019 with an opportunity to represent Australia at Eurovision. He finished in fifth place with his entry 'To Myself'. In 2020 he co-write the Cypriot Eurovision song 'Running' by Sandro.

In the DNA interview Alfie also shared that new music is on the way. His next single release is called 'LDD' - Love’s a dangerous drug.

Alfie has an EP coming out soon which will feature four songs, including his last release 'OVERTIME'. You can read all about 'OVERTIME' here.
