Thumbs up, thumbs down - which songs do users most like on YouTube?

We've looked at the official Eurovision channel's videos of all 43 songs and analyses the thumbs up and thumbs down to see which songs have the best approval rate.

So if a song has 90 thumbs up and 10 thumbs down it has a 90% approval rate. Got it? Good! :)

Now this is only one measure and doesn't take into account many factors like total views and how long the video has been out, but nonetheless provide some interesting data.

  1. Greece - 94.44%

  2. Poland - 94.26%

  3. Lithuania - 93.28%

  4. Switzerland - 93.27%

  5. Italy - 93.18%

  6. Spain - 93.06%

  39. Norway - 73.83%

  40. Georgia - 66.10%

  41. Iceland - 62.96%

  42. San Marino - 57.89%

  43. Russia - 38.89%

What's obvious is that so many songs have strong approval rates. 14 of the songs have over 90% and 34 of the 43 songs have over 80%. Both super impressive numbers.

Israel is in 13th with 88% however that number is impressive since she's had over 9 million views compared to the 90,000 for Poland in 2nd place. The higher the views, the harder it is to keep a good rating.

So Australia shouldn't feel turn bad in 27th place. We are one of the few songs with over a million views and with 85% approval that's a very solid result.
