With the end of year coming it’s a time to reflect on the Eurovision that was. Our first look at this is the year’s most played Eurovision songs on Spotify.
Ok so a few things before we look at the list… this is only songs that were performed at Eurovision in Kyiv. These numbers were taken on Saturday 16 December and only include the song with the most played (if there are multiple version, we took the most played – sorry otherwise it’s gets very complicated!)
And the results are surprising… the most played song was….
Moldova’s ‘Hey Mama’ by Sunstroke Project.
This was followed closely by ‘Occidentali’s Karma’ and Robin Bengtsson’s ‘I Can’t Go On’. All three of these had over 20 million streams each. A phenomenal amount.
The contemporary songs of ‘City Lights’ and ‘Grab the Moment’ rounded out the top five.
Australia’s own Isaiah Firebrace followed up his impressive 9th place in the contest with the 7th most streamed song – surprisingly ahead of Eurovision runner-up Kristian Kostov’s ‘Beautiful Mess’.
The Eurovision winner – Salvador Sobral’s ‘Amar Pelos Dois’ came in at 6th place with over 10 million streams.
The highest ranked non-qualifier was Estonia’s ‘Verona’ (a fan and Aussievision favourite) while NAVI band brought up the rear of qualified songs coming in at 33rd.
