Over the past few months members of the Aussievision team have been advocating for artists that should represent Australia at Vienna next year.
One act however stands out as both fresh and strategically perfect: Midnight Til Morning, the pop-rock boy band formed on Netflix’s Building The Band.
With their international appeal, strong management team, and TV experience, they’re exactly the kind of act Australia should be sending to Europe next year.
Who Are Midnight Til Morning?
Midnight Til Morning are a trans-Pacific pop-rock group formed through the hit Netflix series Building The Band.
The four members, Australians Conor Smith and Mason Watts, alongside Americans Shane Appell and Zach Newbould, first met as solo performers before discovering undeniable chemistry as a band. Their harmonies, stage presence, and natural charisma quickly made them fan favourites on the show.
On Building The Band, they impressed both audiences and judges, which included Nicole Scherzinger, Kelly Rowland, and the late Liam Payne. Though eliminated just before the final, the group’s momentum only grew.
Straight after the show they were signed by music label Chugg Music, home to acts like Sheppard, Lime Cordiale, and Australia’s Eurovision 2025 artist Go-Jo.
Their debut single Bye, co-written with Benson Boone, has already surpassed four million streams on Spotify, and a world tour across Australia, North America, and Europe is set to happen with shows already selling out.
On top of this just last month, the band have been working on new music with DNA Songs, Dave and Anthony, the duo behind some of Australia's great success at Eurovision. The duo co-wrote and helped produced Sound of Silence, Don’t Come Easy and We Got Love, all songs that got Australia into the Eurovision Grand Final.
Possibly this collaboration between the band and DNA Songs may have some Eurovision gold already in the making.
The band has achieved a lot in a very short period of time, from reality TV hopefuls to serious global contenders in under a year. Eurovision could be the platform that catapults them into global stardom.
The Go-Jo factor: Experience and strategy
One of Midnight Til Morning’s biggest strengths is their record label partnership with Chugg Music.
The team behind Chugg Music played a big role in promoting Go-Jo, who represented Australia at Eurovision 2025.
While Go-Jo didn’t qualify for the Eurovision Grand Final, his post-Eurovision career has flourished. Some of the success has to be put to the ambitious promotional campaign across Europe during Eurovision which included cross-collaborations with Eurovision artists, and a strong presence at Eurovision pre-parties.
At over 12 million streams on Spotify, Go-Jo's Eurovision entry Milkshake Man now boasts as the most streamed song by a non-qualifier from Eurovision 2025, surpassing even some Eurovision finalists.
After the contest Go-Jo has toured Australia and Europe in sold out shows and is set to embark on his first arena tour of Australia as a support act for the one and only James Blunt this month.
Therefore if Midnight Til Morning were to represent Australia at Eurovision they would be in great hands thanks to the Chugg Music team.
They know how to navigate the contest, how to get exposure beyond the stage, and how to turn Eurovision into a springboard for long-term success.
If this management team could generate a European fanbase for a solo act from just one show, imagine what they could do with a boy band whose appeal is even broader.
With Midnight Til Morning Chugg Music may just get that Eurovision qualification they were robbed of in 2025.
Time for Australia to send another band
Australia has only once sent a band to Eurovision: Voyager in 2023, who not only qualified but stormed to a Top 10 finish with Promise.
Bands bring something different to the contest, a mix of live energy, chemistry, and spectacle.
But here’s the twist: Australia has never sent a pop band. Midnight Til Morning would fill that gap perfectly.
Their sound blends radio-friendly pop with singer-songwriter influences, a balance that appeals to both Eurovision televoters and juries.
Their youth and international makeup with band members from the US also help Australia broaden its Eurovision identity, especially to younger audiences and markets like the US, where Eurovision is steadily growing, and they may garner some extra voting points thanks to the rest of the World voting at the contest.
Built for TV and live performances
Eurovision is more than a music competition, it’s a televised global event watched by over 160 million people.
Midnight Til Morning already have the skills to thrive in that environment. Building The Band gave them the chance to perform live on stage, under pressure, and in front of cameras.
While they may not be heavy choreographers, the band know how to work a stage, connect with audiences, and deliver authentic performances. Their TV experience means they won’t just survive the chaos of Eurovision, they’ll own it.

Midnight Til Morning embody everything Australia should want in a Eurovision act: fresh, ambitious, globally minded, and guided by a team with proven Eurovision experience.
They represent the next wave of Australian music talent, with streaming success, a growing fanbase, and the charisma to win over Europe.
With the right song, clever staging, and their unique international story, Midnight Til Morning could make a serious impact at Eurovision 2026. They’re more than just candidates, they’re Australia’s chance to bring something new, exciting, and unforgettable to Vienna!
