Uku Suviste wins Eesti Laul and will represent Estonia at Eurovision with 'What Love Is'

This morning Estonia held their national final Eesti Laul and Uku Suviste with 'What Love Is' took out the title.

The 37-year-old finished runner-up in 2019 but managed to go one better with the Estonian public voting him the winner in the Super Final.

His song 'What Love Is' beat out heavy favourite 'Beautiful Lie' from Jaagup Tuisk and jury winners Anett x Fredi with 'Write About Me'.

The Super Final was chosen by combining the public and jury votes, with Uku getting through despite finishing fourth in the jury. The Super Final was then chosen by 100% public vote.

The final positions were:

  1. Uku Suviste - 'What Love Is'

  2. Jaagup Tuisk - 'Beautiful Lie'

  3. Anett x Fredi 'Write About Me'

  4. Egert Milder - 'Georgia (On My Mind)'

  5. Traffic - 'Üks kord veel'

  6. SHIRA - 'Out in Space'

  7. Stefan - 'By My Side'

  8. Inger - 'Only Dream'

  9. Synne Valtri feat. Väliharf - 'Majakad'

  10. Uudo Sepp 'I'm Sorry. I Messed Up'

  11. Laura "Break Me"

  12. Rasmus Rändvee "Young"

'What Love Is' is written by Uku and Sharon Vaughn. Sharon wrote 'Scream' which finished 3rd last year for Sergey Lazarev as well as 'Waterline' for Jedward. She is also the songwriter for 'Superg!rl' which is representing Greece this year.

Uku will be hoping to repeat the efforts of Victor Crone and Elina Nechayeva who both made the Eurovision Grand Final in Estonia in 2019 and 2018 respectively.
