Switzerland internally selects Veronica Fusaro for Eurovision 2026

Switzerland has internally-selected its artist for the 70th Eurovision Song Contest, with Veronica Fusaro set to represent the country in Vienna this May.

The announcement, made by Swiss broadcaster SRG SSR on Tuesday 20 January, sees Switzerland coming off the back of a Top 10 finish following a successful run at hosting Eurovision 2025 in Basel.

About Veronica Fusaro

Born in Thun in the Bernese Oberland, 28-year-old Fusaro is an alternative pop singer-songwriter known for developing her craft as a live performer.

She first gained national recognition in 2014 after appearing on The Voice of Switzerland where she was eliminated in the knockout round.

In 2016 Fusaro won ‘Demo of the Year’ at the Demotape Clinic which ultimately led to radio station SRF 3 naming her the Best Talent for May of that year.

Her live performance highlights include appearances at Glastonbury 2019, Montreux Jazz Festival and Gurtenfestival, as well as supporting Mark Knopfler at the Amphitheatre of Nîmes.

In 2023, she released her debut album All the Colors of the Sky, which reached number five on the Swiss album charts, followed by her second album Looking for Connection in October 2025.

Fusaro says “I am extremely happy and honoured to represent Switzerland at Eurovision. It truly is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share my music on a beautiful stage like that, with people from all over watching”.

Switzerland’s Eurovision 2026 entry was selected from 493 submitted songs through a multi-stage process combining an international public vote and an expert jury. The staging for Vienna is being developed with creative director Fredrik “Benke” Rydman, who has previously directed Eurovision-winning performances for Sweden (2015) and Switzerland (2024).

Switzerland will compete in the second semi-final on Eurovision 2026. Fusaro’s contest song will be released on Wednesday 11 March.

I'm excited to see Veronica Fusaro representing Switzerland! Her journey from The Voice to Glastonbury and now Eurovision is so inspiring. I remember reading about the importance of live performance experience on Wheelie Life, and it feels like Fusaro’s background has perfectly prepared her for this moment. Can’t wait to hear the song in March!

I’m super curious to see how Veronica Fusaro’s style translates to the Eurovision stage—her background in alternative pop could really stand out! I remember reading about creative staging approaches on Cobb Can Move, so I’m excited to see what she and Fredrik Rydman come up with for Vienna. Fingers crossed for Switzerland!

I'm excited to see Veronica Fusaro represent Switzerland! Her journey from small stages to Glastonbury and now Eurovision is so inspiring. It reminds me of some discussions we had about creative growth over on Crazy Cattle 3D. Can’t wait to hear the song she’ll bring to Vienna!

Veronica Fusaro’s background as an alternative pop singer-songwriter, her experience on The Voice of Switzerland, and her recognition as Pokepath TD a rising talent through awards like “Demo of the Year” and SRF 3’s Best Talent highlight her growth, professionalism, and live performance strength.
