This weekend is the Grand Final of Sweden's Melodifestivalen, where the nation will decide its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.

Hosted by Gina Dirawi and Hampus Nessvold from Strawberry Arena in Stockholm, twelve artists will battle it out to see who will win the ticket to represent Sweden in Vienna.

The Melfest songs ranked by the Aussievision team

Fifteen members of the Aussievision team have weighed in on who they want to see win, using Eurovision-style scoring to rank their top 10 acts from 12 points down to one.

The results in reverse order are:

12. Lilla Al-Fadji - Delulu (14 points)

Highs: 10 points from Liv

Lows: 1 point from Sam, 0 points from Srdjan, Cooper, Paul, John Christian, Craig, Tim, Hayley, Rebecca, Dale, Kyriakos, Joel and Kiel

"Funny man sings - I dance. Teehee." ~ Liv

"Delulu is one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard. It’s not fun, it’s not catchy, he looks like someone I’d see crashing out at the local supermarket that you avoid. Delulu is just trash, sorry." ~ Cooper

11. Robin Bengtsson - Honey Honey (24 points)

Highs: 4 points from Rebecca and Kyriakos

Lows: 0 points from Paul, Sam, Tim, Liv, Joel and Emma, 1 point from Craig, 2 points from Srdjan, John Christian and Kiel

10. Brandsta City Släckers - Rakt in i elden (45 points)

Highs: 10 points from Rebecca

Lows: 0 points from Srdjan, Cooper, Hayley and Emma, 1 point from Paul and Tim, 2 points from Craig and Dale

"This just makes me smile. Is it cheesy and dated? Absolutely. Would it win Eurovision? Highly, highly unlikely. But Swedish firefighters moonlighting as a legacy act and giving us a genuinely fun and catchy song is the most cute and wholesome thing to come out of this national final season. This is going on all of my playlists and I will not hear a bad word about them." ~ Rebecca

"This is just pure joy, and one of two songs in the final that is in the Swedish language. Who doesn't love Swedish firemen singing some schlager? You can't help but just smile at this song and their performance." ~ Paul

9. Saga Ludvigsson - Ain't Today (46 points)

Highs: 8 points from Srdjan

Lows: 0 points from John Christian and Sam, 1 point from Cooper, Liv, Dale and Joel, 2 points from Hayley and Kyriakos

"A country-pop banger from Sweden? Yes please. Capitalising on the worldwide trend of country-fused pop, Saga's song glides with gusto and authority. A fun song that shouldn't be ignored." ~ Paul

8. Medina - Viva L'Amor (51 points)

Highs: 7 points from Srdjan

Lows: 1 point from Hayley, Kyriakos and Kiel, 2 points from Paul, Sam, Joel and Emma

7. Greczula - Half of Me (61 points)

Highs: 8 points from Sam and Dale

Lows: 0 points from Craig, 1 point from Rebecca and Emma, 2 points from Cooper and Tim

6. Smash Into Pieces - Hollow (82 points)

Highs: 12 points from Kiel, 8 points from Hayley and Rebecca

Lows: 0 points from Dale

"Surely it's third time lucky for these guys. They'll just keep on coming back if it doesn't work out, so why doesn't Sweden just give them the ticket?! Especially when this is the best and most digestible entry yet, and also given their worldwide fanbase." ~ Kiel

"I've really enjoyed their Melfest entries, but this is as the song suggests - Hollow. Pyro and staging are really doing a 'look over there' for a languid effort from the boys." ~ Dale

5. Sanna Nielsen - Waste Your Love (87 points)

Highs: 12 points from John Christian & Sam, 10 points from Craig, 8 points from Cooper

Lows: 0 points from Rebecca, 1 point from Srdjan, 2 points from Liv

"She must win, no doubt about it. I don't care if her entry this year is mediocre or not, we need more experienced Eurovision artists and more nostalgia to rejuvenate the childhoods of some fans. For crying out loud, Sweden, THIS might be the one that will give you an eighth Eurovision victory." ~ John Christian

"I love a fun little schlager ditty sometimes, and this is intensely likeable. It won't and shouldn't go to Eurovision, but this is the sort of thing that makes Melfest what it is, and I wouldn't want anything else." ~ Craig

"The simply stunning and sensation schlager Queen is back! I’m definitely willing to waste all my love on her. I love Undo and Empty Room but I’m so glad she can sing an uptempo, happy song that shows off her beautiful and warm personality. This is her 8th participation, which is also this superfan’s favourite number, so just watch her come for a second victory!! (Yes I know I’m delulu but one can hope haha). Come on senior Swedes lets get behind this one together!!" ~ Sam

"Bless her heart, she's doing her thing again. While this song doesn't reach the heights of some of her other Melodifestivalen songs, this song is pure fun, and she's stomping down that well-lit runway with purpose and joy. A wonderful addition to the final." ~ Paul

4. Cimberly - Eternity (89 points)

Highs: 12 points from Dale, 10 points from Kyriakos and Joel, 8 points from Paul

Lows: 0 points from Liv, 1 point from John Christian

"To me this is the most cohesive pop package of the lot. Feels like something out of Jacqline and that could have a life outside Melfest. Cimberly does a cracking job though I wish they gave her a little more to play with staging." ~ Dale

"Super catchy! The song has great drive. The chorus sounds very familiar but I still love it!!" ~ Kyriakos

"Cimberly delivers probably the most perfect piece of polished pop out of Melfest this year. This is undeniably radio friendly, but for me it lacks that grittiness that gives some of her competitors the edge." ~ Joel

3. Meira Omar - Dooset daram (96 points)

Highs: 12 points from Srdjan, 10 points from Sam, Tim and Hayley, 8 points from Liv, Joel and Emma

Lows: 0 points from Kyriakos and Kiel

"I was hooked on this song from the very start, the catchy chorus got stuck in my head straight away. The staging and performance just elevated it in my eyes, will have this one on repeat for weeks to come!" ~ Srdjan

"It is an absolute travesty that this did not qualify directly to the final and is now in the sacrificial second slot. But Meira has overcome so much adversity in her life, that I’m sure she can fire her way through this. This performance has to be one of the best productions I’ve seen at Melfest ever. The rustic rock background, intense fire work, and beautiful backing dancers create a perfect performance. Meira, dooset daram!" ~ Sam

"This sounds like an evolution of ‘Hush Hush’ from last year. It has very similar elements and structure but it has more complexity to it which I really enjoy. I liked the performance in the heat but I think the stripped back performance during the second chance round had a better chance of improving the song. Wouldn’t be disappointed if this went on to win on Sunday." ~ Tim

"This is great!" ~ Hayley

2. A-Teens - Iconic (112 points)

Highs: 12 points from Paul, 10 points from Cooper, Kiel and Emma, 8 points from John Christian, Craig, Tim and Kyriakos

Lows: 2 points from Rebecca

"This is a cheese fest but that’s what I want from my Mello songs. It’s crazy that a band I use to see on Disney Channel is now at Eurovision some 15 years later. Iconic is just simply… iconic. An insane major chord filled Schlager disaster that I can’t stop listening to." ~ Cooper

"When your song name is Iconic, you better be darned sure that it is a song and performance worthy of that name. Thankfully, the return of one of Sweden's biggest musical exports in the 00s has delivered. It's pop-schlager brilliance that has become a cultural staple in Swedish music. And, coupled with flawless vocals and hand-ography that is easy to remember, and you've got one banger of a song and performance. Put simply, this is definitely iconic! And, more than 25 years later, Dhani still has my heart!" ~ Paul

"Sweden hasn't got a serious contender for a winning entry in this year's Melfest pack. So why not send this for a bit of fun and nostalgia?!" ~ Kiel

"What's not to love about a rebooted A-Teens? The seemingly ageless quartet put on an iconic show with some clever staging where the focus remains entirely on them. Could be a dark horse given their popularity around the world in the late 90's/early 2000's." ~ Emma

1. Felicia - My System (163 points)

Highs: 12 points from Cooper, Craig, Tim, Liv, Hayley, Rebecca, Kyriakos, Joel and Emma, 10 points from Srdjan, Paul, John Christian and Dale, 8 points from Kiel

Lows: 7 points from Sam

"Everything about this is amazing, from Felicia's crystal clear vocals, to the fantastic staging and performance. Combine that with her story and everything she's been through in her career so far and this is a winning package." ~ Srdjan

"I’ve not felt this excited for a Mello song since Tattoo. As a die hard Melfest fan, I wasn’t that excited about hearing Felicia returning to the contest but god I was wrong. My System is THE edm track of the year. So many songs this national final season have tapped into the electronic zeitgeist happening after JJ’s win but Felicia’s one has really stuck. The staging is incredible, the song is like a wall of noise and you’ve just got to hold on for three minutes." ~ Cooper

"If there was any song that will challenge my schlager love, it would be this one. Hard EDM pumping out of your speakers and a performance filled with lasers all culminate into an addictive song and performance. I can see this being played loudly in clubs across the world and it would definitely be one that would be a breakout worldwide hit. If there is a slight worry about this song, I am worried about the no-lyric chorus and how successful that can be on the Eurovision stage." ~ Paul

"I get the hype around it, but if it does, we could see a "Kaarija vs Loreen" situation again because Linda and Pete winning for Finland has been the dream of most Eurovision fans and I am completely certain that barring any movement from other countries in the odds, it might be one of the favorites to win." ~ John Christian

"While this isn't winning any prizes for best lyrics, the intensity of the staging package and Felicia's sheer charisma more than make up for that. This is a real Melfest classic and will make a cracking Eurovision entry as well." ~ Craig

"Whilst I’m not 100 percent sure of the vocal quality without support, this is an amazing package of a performance. The music has such a great modern EDM sound that helps to elevate the song as a piece of contemporary music. It has been on repeat ever since its release and it is just a great performance. I would be personally worried for the person who organises the SVT budget for 2027 because if this wins on Sunday, it has a strong chance to deliver Sweden the elusive 8th victory." ~ Tim

"Talk about grabbing me by the neck first listen and not letting go. I've not been this obsessed in a long time. Feel like there is some inspiration from the Shrek rave graphics that went viral on Tiktok last year (iykyk). Showed this to my Mum who lost her mind and went and sent it to all her friends. This is an intergenerational MASTERPIECE." ~ Liv

"This song stands head and shoulders above the rest. The staging is absolutely incredible - a feast for the eyes. However, I would question whether this song would stand up on its own without the incredible staging." ~ Hayley

"Yeah, this is the one. EDM rave with angelic vocals, blood-red lasers and a heaping portion of dance break-- it practically screams "send me to Eurovision!" The song itself is incredibly catchy and easily repeatable for a single-viewing audience. And my god, the LED's at the end of the song are jaw-dropping. A perfect climax for the stage show." ~ Rebecca

"Well this just slaps you over the face doesn't it? This has incredible impact - the staging is out of the world. I do think the staging is actually better than the song itself (hence my 10 points), but if I was choosing for Sweden, I'd be sending this to Vienna. Just lose the mask after Melfest." ~ Dale

"I am obsessed with this! Inject this into my system. Can it win Melfest? I dunno. But I have a song I’ll be listening to on my Spotify playlist for years to come!" ~ Kyriakos

"I’ve been a huge fan of Felicia since her Fröken Snusk days, so I’m over the moon she brought this banger to Melfest! The lyrics might not be groundbreaking, but she more than makes up for it with that epic EDM beat. Paired with the laser visuals, this performance really cements her as a serious Eurovision contender." ~ Joel

"This absolutely blew me away in the heats. With strong vocals, slick choreography and brilliant use of the LED's, this EDM banger is a Swedish masterpiece that could very well win Eurovision let alone Melodifestivalen. Sweden you know what to do!" ~ Emma
