Support Australian artists for AusMusic T-Shirt Day 2023

The Australian broadcaster ABC's youth radio station Triple J, the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), and Support Act, a charity dedicated to supporting the Australian music industry, have officially launched the annual AusMusic T-Shirt Day for 2023.

Every year in November Triple J hosts AusMusic month. It is a whole month dedicated to celebrating Australian music, along with AusMusic T-shirt Day, where music fans are encouraged to wear an Aussie act's t-shirt with pride to show their support for the Australian music industry.

AusMusic T-Shirt Day 2023 is set to take place on November 30, in order to celebrate Australian music and raise urgently needed funds to support musicians, managers, crew, and music workers across all genres to access crisis relief, mental health and wellbeing programs, the Support Act Wellbeing Helpline, Mentally Healthy Workplaces Program, and dedicated First Nations support.

The #ausmusictshirtday Premium Range features a shirt honouring iconic Australian women in music, including three Aussie Eurovision artists! Jessica Mauboy, Kate Miller-Heidke, and Olivia Newton-John feature alongside beloved Australian music legends such as Kylie Minogue, Missy Higgins, Christine Anu, and Chrissy Amphlett.

You can buy this shirt, as well as shirts from Australian music superstars such as Kylie Minogue, John Farnham, Paul Kelly, Cold Chisel, Archie Roach, and more online at the official Support Act store. 100% of the proceeds of shirt sales from this store will go directly towards Support Act and its important initiatives to help the Australian music industry, but hurry before the shop shuts on October 27!

Kate Miller-Heidke and Australia Decides artist Charley have also released official t-shirts in support of AusMusic T-Shirt Day 2023. You can get Kate Miller-Heidke's t-shirt here and Charley's t-shirt here. Or if you're an Olivia Newton-John fan, a t-shirt featuring her is available at High Tees Australia here.

On November 30, we encourage all of you to show your support for our Australian Eurovision and Australia Decides acts or even your favourite Australian artists and wear your t-shirts. You can take a selfie and show the world on social media with the hashtag #ausmusictshirtday.

If you don’t yet have a t-shirt to wear and you are able to buy some merch from the artists and show your support, now is the best time to get on to it, to make sure your merch gets to you before November 30.

If t-shirts are a bit out of your price range, you can buy another piece of merchandise from the artist, or support them however you can. If you're stuck or need inspiration, check out our article that we have put together on how you can support our Aussie Eurovision and Australia Decides artists this Eurovision New Year.

Check out Support Act's site of merch partners to find the Australian bands and acts you would like to support with links to their retailers or merch stores.

We at Aussievision have gone through the list with links to the merch stores from all the available Australian Eurovision and Australia Decides acts right here:

Buying merch is one of the direct ways of supporting our artists, but there are other ways too.

If you don’t need new merch but still want to help out, you can donate to Support Act via https://supportact.org.au/ it is Australia’s only charity that delivers crisis relief services to artists, crew, and music workers. Click here to make a general donation to Support Act.

A lot of us fans are also doing it tough right now too, so if you can’t make a financial contribution, just show your support on November 30 on social media by wearing an old t-shirt, showing off an Aussie act's merch, and wearing it with pride.

Head to the official Ausmusic T-Shirt Day website for more details here.
