Slovenia: Artists announced for EMA 2022



Slovenian broadcaster RTVSLO have announced the 16 artists that will be Evroizijska Melodija (EMA) 2022..


The artists were announced sporadically overnight and they and the song titles are:


  • Eva Moškon -'Kliki'

  • Manouche -'Si sama?'

  • Klara Jazbec -'Chasing Dreams'

  • Bowrain & Brina -'Čas je'

  • BQL – 'Maj'

  • Zala Smolnikar – 'V ogledalu'

  • Gušti feat. Leyre – 'Nova romantika'

  • Anabel – 'Tendency'

  • Batista Cadillac – 'Mim pravil' (My rules)

  • Jonatan Haller – 'Obzorje' (Horizon)

  • Le Serpentine – 'Tud teb se lahk zgodi'

  • Mia Guček – 'Independiente'

  • David Amaro – 'Še vedno si lepa'

  • July Jones – 'Girls Can Do Anything'

  • Hauptman – 'Sledim'

  • Verdan Ljubenko – 'H2O dieta'


One of the most recognised artists in the group is BQL who have previously competed at EMA in 2017 and 2018.



On both occasions the duo of brothers finished runner-up with 'Heart of Gold' and 'Promise' despite winning the public vote.


These 16 artists will be joined by four winners of EMA Freš 2022, a preselection show for emerging artists.


The 20 acts will compete in two semi-finals with six to advance from each (three from the public and three from the jury).


The final will be decided by a 50/50 jury and public split.


Slovenia made their debut at Eurovision in 1993 getting as high as 7th place in 1995 and 2001.


The nation qualified in 2018 and 2019 before missing out on the Grand Final when 'Voda' by Ana Soklic finishing 13th in her semi-final.
