Serbia selects six finalists for Beovizija 2020 in the first semi final

Six songs have made it through to the grand final of Beovizija 2020 this morning in the first semi final.

The entries that made it through are:

  • Igor Simić - 'Ples za rastanak'

  • Andrija Jo - 'Oči Meduze'

  • Thea Devy - 'Sudnji dan'

  • Neda Ukraden - 'Bomba'

  • Marko Marković - 'Kolači'

  • EJO - “Trag”

69-year-old Neda Ukraden got through thanks to a costume reveal, choreographed dance moves and a solid vocal performance on ‘Bomba’.

Andrija Jo, who was one of the other favourites going into the contest also put in a good performance with his song 'Oči Meduze' featuring Isidora Mitić, who was suspended above the stage.

Australia got a number of mentions, mostly thanks to host Stefan Popović, who is Australian and of Serbian descent.

Serbia’s 2017 artist Tijana Bogicevic performed ‘In Too Deep’ in the interval and was later joined on stage by Maya Sar (who represented Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2012) to perform ‘Hold Me Now’, Johnny Logan’s winning entry from 1987. Maya also performed her 2012 entry ‘Korake ti znam’.

At the end of the show the finalists drew their running order, which were:

3. Neda Ukraden

4. Andrija Jo

5. Igor Simić

6. Thea Devy

7. EJO

11. Marko Marković

Six more Beovizija 2020 entries will be selected in the second semi final on Saturday night (Sunday morning Australian time). They will then compete in the grand final on Sunday night (Monday morning Australian time).
