SBS Eurovision 2025: Semi-Final 2 replay – Who did the Australian public like?

Tonight SBS aired the primetime replay of the second semi-final of Eurovision 2025 in Basel.

Australian viewers could vote for their favourite songs from Semi Final 2, including those that were pre-qualified, via a SBS Eurovision WhatsApp chat.

Viewers could send either #YES or #NO followed by the country name to the dedicated chat, with the SBS Eurovision Rater tallying the results and displaying them at the end of each performance. Viewers were restricted to one vote per country.

Who did Australia love most?

Australia's winner of Semi Final 2 was pre-qualifed country Germany with 96% of viewers loving Abor & Tynna's Baller!

But if we look only at the countries competing for a place in the Grand Final then Luxembourg's Laura Thorn came out on top on 92%. Australia's Milkshake Man by Go-Jo was next highest with 90% of viewers liking the song.

In fact, Australians loved 14 of the 19 songs performed in this semi-final with only five scoring under 50%.

And it seems there is a reasonably high correlation between tonight's results and the real results announced on Friday morning (Australian time) in Basel.

Seven of Australia's Top 10 also made the 2025 Grand Final. Based on the SBS viewer poll, Australia would have preferred Australia, Ireland and Czechia to go through to the Grand Final and Armenia, Lithuania and Israel to miss out.

The official semi-final results which will include the placing of each song and votes received from each country will be revealed after the conclusion of the contest on Saturday night (Sunday morning in Australia).
