Roxen releases 'Amnesia' - Romania's song for Eurovision 2021

Romanian pop singer Roxen has today released her 2021 Eurovision entry titled 'Amnesia'.

Roxen worked with songwriters and producers Adelina Stinga and Victor Bourosu on the song that she will perform in the second half of the Semi-Final 1 along with Australia on May 18 in Rotterdam.

Roxen has been internally selected for the 2021 contest to represent Romania with her song 'Amnesia' .

Last year Roxen was also internally selected to represent Romania at Eurovision. For her song she performed five song options via national final 'Selecția Națională'. Her strong and convincing performance of 'Alcohol You' won the national final.

'Amnesia' fits well into Roxen's outstanding collection of songs that have graced the Romanian charts since her debut when she was the featured artist on Romanian DJ Sickotoy's single 'You Don't Love Me', released in 2019.

Roxen has scored two chart-topping hits in her homeland, with 'Ce-ți cântă dragostea' and 'Spune-mi' both reaching number one.

She is signed to popular Romanian record label 'Global Records' who have a deal with the Romanian national broadcaster in order to use their artists to represent the country at Eurovision.

Global Records has many successful acts on their roster such as INNA, Antonia, wrs and Irina Rimes.

Romania debuted at Eurovision in 1994 with 'Dincolo de nori' by Dan Bittman which finished in 21st place in the final. Their best result at Eurovision has been third place which they have achieved two times. First time in 2005 with 'Let Me Try' by Luminița Anghel and Sistem and then again in 2010 with 'Playing with Fire' by Paula Seling and Ovi.
