The grand final of Portugal's annual national final, Festival da Canção 2026, will take place this weekend.

After two hard-fought semifinals, just 10 acts remain in the running to win the competition - although only three of them have indicated that they are likely to proceed to Eurovision in the event that they win.

The Aussievision team has been hard at work listening to all 10 entries to determine their favourites. Nine team members awarded their top eight songs with points in descending order (12-10-8-6-4-3-2-1). Ties were broken based on the song which received the highest individual score.

Check out the results below!

10. Silvana Peres - Não tem fim (17 points)

Highs: 4 points from Sam & Dale

Lows: 0 points from Joel & Paul, 1 point from Craig, Hayley & Srdjan

9. Nunca Mates o Mandarim - Fumo (21 points)

Highs: 6 points from Craig & Sam

Lows: 0 points from Dale, Rebecca & Srdjan, 1 point from Fleur

8. Sandrino - Disposto a tudo (31 points)

Highs: 10 points from Paul

Lows: 0 points from Craig, Fleur & Joel, 1 point from Sam

"There’s nothing like a good-looking man standing alone on stage singing to you (and you alone) strumming on a guitar reminding you of your long-gone European holiday romances… at least, that’s what the song reminds me of. A very charming song that you can easily vibe along with that remind you of a Mediterranean summer, whether or not you’ve actually experienced one or not. Whether or not this is competitive on the Eurovision stage is hard to tell, but this song does make you smile and nostalgic all at the same time." ~Paul

7. Evaya - Sprint (36 points)

Highs: 10 points from Hayley & Joel

Lows: 0 points from Craig & Dale, 1 point from Rebecca

"I close my eyes and can see the staging to this - dark, moody and mysterious. Interesting timing to this song.. takes you on a bit of a journey. I really like her vocal too!" ~Hayley

"This is a really interesting and intriguing song, it brings a different sound to the stage and stands on its own as a piece of art. Reminds me a lot of early Björk." ~Joel

"Moody, dark-wave, electronic pop that is hypnotic in both the song and its performance, yet is very understated the way that Portugal can only master. Definitely quite the arresting song that will seep into your mind before you know it – though, it might be a little too avant-garde for a Eurovision stage, it will be a song that I definitely return to." ~Paul

6. Marquise - Chuva (39 points)

Highs: 12 points from Fleur & Hayley, 8 points from Paul

Lows: 0 points from Rebecca & Sam, 1 point from Dale & Joel

"Alt-rock is my jam, so this song really appeals to me. I really like the guitar work here and it's refreshing to see it at Festival da Cançao. I can see this score well in the televote, not sure much in the juries." ~Fleur

"OMG THIS IS GOOD! Nirvana meets Breeders meets the Cure meets Queens of the Stone Age! This one is going straight to the pool room!" ~Hayley

"This song will definitely wake you up and transport you to the alt-rock bands of the 90s – both in the song and its performance. This is a more understated version of The Cardigans mixed in with Bjork. It’s the 90s throwback we needed that is sorely missed in today’s music." ~Paul

5. João Ribeiro - Canção do querer (45 points)

Highs: 12 points from Craig & Sam, 10 points from Dale

Lows: 0 points from Fleur & Srdjan, 1 point from Paul

"This is an simply stunning beautiful ballad. It makes me feel so peaceful relaxed. It has a real heal the soul vibe." ~Sam

"In quite a weak year for Festival da Canção, this is a gentle jazzy moment with some real atmosphere. Beautifully sung by João, the only real criticism I had is that it feels like it could use a few more ideas in its final minute." ~Craig

"This breaks all my rules of a competitive entry, but because it is so different is why I love it. This sounds like a modern-day Portuguese Chet Baker, and I was hypnotised from start to finish. Just beautiful from João." ~Dale

4. André Amaro - Dá-me a tua mão (51 points)

Highs: 10 points from Sam, 8 points from Craig, Rebecca & Srdjan

Lows: 0 points from Hayley

"This has a very classy, sensual feel about it. The staging with the drums and beautiful graphics behind him are simple but effective. Would be a well-deserved Portuguese representative at Eurovision." ~Sam

3. Bandidos do Cante - Rosa (55 points)

Highs: 12 points from Paul and Rebecca, 10 points from Fleur

Lows: 0 points from Hayley

"This song has a strong call to action from the very outset – the acapella harmonies at the start of the song completely engage you and make you stand to attention. This song sounds both like a lullaby and a folk song about a time gone by that you long for and genuinely miss. The song sounds like one of those songs you’d hear at a pub as people would start breaking into song… it has that old-timey nostalgic sadness and beauty, but a unifying experience that is timeless. The performance definitely got me emotional for some reason. Absolutely beautiful." ~Paul

"I'm a sucker for harmonies, okay? This has a nostalgic, old cinema sort of vibe to it that just makes me want to close my eyes and sway. We aren't breaking any boundaries with this one but we really don't need to be. Warm and cosy and easily my number 1." ~Rebecca

"I really think that this will win and head to Vienna. The harmonies are lovely and it is a beautiful song. t will be a unique entry at this year's Eurovision Song Contest. However, the staging needs a lot of work." ~Fleur

2. Gonçalo Gomes - Doce ilusão (58 points)

Highs: 12 points from Joel, 10 points from Craig & Srdjan

Lows: 0 points from Sam & Paul

"This song really stands out for me. It has a fresh vibe compared to the other male ballads at Eurovision this year. I was completely captivated by the performance, from the raw emotion in his vocals to the quirky staging which really drew me in. Please Portugal, send this one!" ~Joel

"The spiritual successor to iolanda's "Grito", this has some gravitas and builds successfully over the course of three minutes. Gonçalo is one of the better performers and vocalists in this lineup and sells this perfectly." ~Craig

"Similar to my first place song, everything about this just works for me vocally and visually, a shame that we won't be seeing Gonzalez at Eurovision this year, but he is someone I can definitely see Portugal sending in the future." ~Srdjan

1. Dinis Mota - Jurei (61 points)

Highs: 12 points from Dale & Srdjan, 10 points from Rebecca

Lows: 2 points from Fleur

"I really like the beat of this song and his voice just hits right. Everything about this package from the vocals and charisma of Dinis to the staging and performance just works for me." ~Srdjan

"This has it all. Something that feels very credible and authentically Portuguese but at the same time has a stickable chorus for the non-Portuguese ear. Dinis has strong stage craft, knows how to connect with the camera and let's face it, he not only sounds good he looks bloody good as well." ~Dale

"It takes a minute to build up, but once it does it's pretty fun! For me it has a sort of "grab someone dance lazily in the corner of the pub right before closing time" feeling. Very easy listening and I appreciate that laidback nature." ~Rebecca
