Portugal: Artists and Songs announced for Festival da Canção 2026

Portuguese broadcaster RTP has released the songs and artists competing in Festival Da Canção 2026, the annual selection to find Portugal’s Eurovision entry.


Two semi-finals and a grand final will take place over three weeks, starting on 21 February 2025 (European time). As always, the grand final will be hosted by Portuguese TV legend Filomena Cautela accompanied by Vasco Palmeirim.


Filomena and Vasco will also host one semifinal each. They will be accompanied in the Green Room for all three shows by Alexandre Guimarães and Catarina Maia.


The eight songs participating in semifinal 1 are:


  1. Agridoce - Onde Quero Estar

  2. André Amaro - Dá-Me a Tua Mão

  3. Bateu Matou - Nos Teus Olhos

  4. Dinis Mota - Jurei

  5. Mário Marta - Pertencer

  6. Evaya - Sprint

  7. Marquise - Chuva

  8. Nunca Mates o Mandarim - Fumo


The eight songs participating in semifinal 2 are:


  1. Bandidos do Cante - Rosa

  2. João Ribeiro - Canção do Querer

  3. Inês Sousa - Um Filme ao Contrário

  4. Sandrino - Disposto a tudo

  5. Jacaréu & Ana Margarida - O-pi-ni-ão

  6. Francisco Fontes - Copiloto

  7. Gonçalo Gomes - Doce Illusão

  8. Silvana Peres - Não tem fim


A large number of the participating acts in Festival da Canção 2026 have announced that they will refuse the invitation to Eurovision in the event that they win the national final in protest of Israel's ongoing participation in the competition. At this stage, the only artists who have confirmed that they would be willing to go to Eurovision are André Amaro and Bandidos do Cante.

Portugal was represented at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest by iolanda and her song, 'Grito'. The song qualified for the Grand Final where it finished 10th. Portugal won its first and only Eurovision trophy in 2017, thanks to Salvador Sobral and 'Amar pelos dois'.
