Poland selects Sara Egwu-James with 'Somebody' for Junior Eurovision 2021

Overnight Poland, through their National Final ‘Szansa na Sukces’ (A Chance For Success), chose Sara Egwu-James as their representative for Junior Eurovision 2021.

Held over three semi-finals on 5 September, 12 September and 19 September, the

three finalists were Marysia Stachera, Miłosz Świetlik Skierski and Sara Egwu-James.

In the final, all three singers performed a cover song and the song they wished to represent Poland with.

Sara belted out Celine Dion's 'My Heart Will Go On' before singing her Junior Eurovision song 'Somebody'. Sara easily won over the other two contestants in a 50/50 jury and pubic voting system.

The final scores were:

  1. Sara James - 'Somebody' (5 points jury, 5 points televote) - 10 points Miłosz Świetlik Skierski - 'Na wyspach Bergamutach' (3 points jury, 1 point televote) - 4 points

  2. Marysia Stachera - 'One World of Colors' - (1 point jury, 3 points televete) - 4 points

13-year-old Sara has been singing and playing piano since a young age. In 2021, Sara won 'The Voice Kids'.

Over the last few years, Poland has been rather successful at Junior, winning in 2018 and 2019. Can Sara make it a lucky third time for Poland?

Junior Eurovision 2021 will take place in Paris on 19 December 2021, after the victory of France’s Valentina last year with 'J’imagine'.
