Montesong 2025

It’s time to begin National Finals season with our first Aussievision Team Rankings for Eurovision 2026!

First off the rank is Montenegro with their national selection, Montesong 2025, to choose their entry to compete in Vienna next year.

Montesong 2025 is being held on Sunday 21 December 2025 (Monday morning for Australia) in Montenegro's capital city Podgorica where the winner will be decided by a 50/50 split of jury and public votes.

13 Aussievision team members have heard all 15 songs and scored them Eurovision-style, from 12 points down to 1.

So who topped the rankings? Let’s reveal our favourite to win Montesong 2025 and kick off the 2026 Eurovision season!

Results

15. Andrea Demirović – I Believe 6 points

“Andrea has gone a complete 180 degrees to her 2009 entry, and I don’t like it. Go back to being camp and fun Andrea! The only way she can redeem herself at Montesong 2025 is if she sits on a male dancer who is lying down like she did at Eurovision 2009.” ~Sam

14. Neno Murić – Ako čuješ glas 17 points

=12. Stefan – Nedekodirana 27 points

=12. Majda Božović – Ipak smo ljudi 27 points

11. Luka Radović – Pjevaj, vilo 30 points

10. Dolce Hera – Casanova 91 – 31 points

Highs: 10 points from Domenic

Lows: 0 points from Srdjan, Sam, Kyriakos, Dale, Fleur, Liv & Hayley, 1 point from Craig

“Something about this song makes it addictive. Groovy and feel-good; she’s done it again.” ~Domenic

9. Baryak – Minerva – 40 points

Highs: 12 points from Saskia & Fleur, 10 points from Joel

Lows: 0 points from Srdjan, Kyriakos, Dale, Laura, Liv, Hayley & Domenic

“I am Baryak's number one fan and their entry this year is a great case of staying on brand without sending the same song. Their blend of heavy metal with layered, atmospheric vocals is something I can't get enough of. In last year's Montesong they were sharing the rock vote with two other songs and came third, now they hold the monopoly as the only rock song this year so I have high hopes for their winning potential!” ~Saskia

“Yes, please. I remember them from last year. I really liked their song last year and I think this one is pretty good too.” ~Fleur

“This is worlds apart from last years Dobrodošli, which is exactly what Montenegro need to aim for because despite being a killer tune, it just didn't pop with audiences. But this one definitely will.” ~Joel

8. Tina Džankić – Shadows – 42 points

Highs: 8 points from Rebecca

Lows: 0 points from Fleur & Sam, 1 point from Srdjan & Liv

7. Krstinja – Oli, oli – 48 points

Highs: 8 points from Craig

Lows: 0 points from Sam, Fleur, Hayley, Rebecca & Joel

6. Đurđa – Dominos – 51 points

Highs: 10 points from Sam, 8 points from Srdjan & Laura

Lows: 0 points from Saskia, Dale, Domenic & Joel, 1 point from Kyriakos

“There is something incredibly charming and melodic about this song. I can hear this in a Disney soundtrack, maybe in a movie about a Balkan princess. It’s not the most original song admittedly, but it is solid pop done excellently. It reminds me a little of Nataleen’s The Game from Norway’s national selection last year, and that is a good thing!” ~Sam

5. LANA – Doline – 56 points

Highs: 8 points from Saskia

Lows: 0 points from Dale, Rebecca & Joel

4. Mila NikićKao varnica – 66 points

Highs: 12 points from Rebecca, 8 points from Dale

Lows: 0 points from Liv

“Every year I am consistently drawn to the songs with disco vibes because I just love a nice, funky beat. Mila has a sweet voice that contrasts really nicely with the uptempo beat and groovy bass. Makes me want to get up and dance!” ~Rebecca

3. Lara Baltić – Rhythm boy – 89 points

Highs: 12 points from Liv, 10 points from Craig, Dale, Laura & Hayley, 8 points from Sam, Kyriakos & Joel

Lows: 0 points from Saskia

“Perhaps suffers slightly from comparison to Nova Zora, but this is again very good and could easily pull points in a Eurovision semifinal so long as it's well-staged. I do have questions about whether Montenegro's budget will be sufficient to do a high-energy dance entry successfully, but for now I am being optimistic and saying that this is one of the better options in a high quality national final. Great work!” ~Craig

“I feel this Med-pop-banger could be from any number of countries, but love the delivery (the pronunciation of Rhythm Boy is perfection). It's fun and even though it relies heavily on an instrumental break it's actually catchy as with a bit of late 2010s national final vibes. Here for it.” ~Dale

"I am obsessed, this queen is a huge fan of Eurovision and has been posting covers of her singing with dancing over the last few years and is clearly passionate about the contest! The quality and production of this entry stood out immediately - send her to Vienna Montenegro!" ~Liv

“This is probably the most current-sounding of all the entries in Montesong this year, and it’s a very catchy and fun song! I’m a simple girl, I love a pop banger complete with a dance break, and I can see the crowd in Vienna absolutely loving this!” ~Laura

“Heaps of fun - no idea what it is actually about - but it's fun!” ~Hayley

2. LANA x ĐORĐE – Temperatura – 103 points

Highs: 12 points from Srdjan & Domenic, 10 points from Saskia, Kyriakos & Fleur, 8 points from Liv

Lows: 2 points from Joel

“This song brings the fire and the energy that I'm after. It is sure to raise the temperature of the crowd at Eurovision!” ~Srdjan

“Modern and well produced with a song structure that keeps you hooked! Also so catchy!” ~Domenic

“In a sea of girlbops that were spiritually written in 2014, this one feels fresh and in my eyes is the only song in the selection that I can picture qualifying to the final without needing a revamp. Dynamic and unique.” ~Saskia

“What a catchy song. I was hooked from the first listen.” ~Kyriakos

“I quite like this ethno banger. It's not revolutionary by any means but it stays with me.” ~Fleur

1. Tamara Živković – Nova zora – 121 points

Highs: 12 points from Sam, Kyriakos, Craig, Dale, Laura, Hayley & Joel, 10 points from Srdjan & Liv

Lows: 0 points from Fleur

“Montenegro, where did this come from? This is fun, sonically quite interesting and impressively high quality. It feels like it's playing with the same types of influences which I'd traditionally associate with Serbian national finals (and Serbia does generally do quite good national finals). If they can successfully transfer this to the stage, Montenegro have really put themselves in with a chance here.” ~Craig

“This is girl pop with drama! It has some early 2000s club vibes combined with some strong Balkan elements and unlike many other songs in this line-up it has some real peaks and troughs, love it!” ~Dale

“Would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to see Montenegro send this banger!!  Would love to see them send something uplifting with Nova Zora! This is super catchy with some parts of dramatic hooks.” ~Kyriakos

“This is EXACTLY the kind of hi-energy banger that Montenegro needs to send if they want to reach the Eurovision final. It sounds current with the thumping electro beat but also has nods to its cultural roots.” ~Joel

“I so see this on stage at Eurovision - lots of flashing lights and dancing. I love the way it immediately kicks into gear - no mucking around! Its bassy, dramatic, it has a lot going on - I am here for it” ~Hayley
