Today, Luxembourgish broadcaster RTL has released the eight entries competing in the Luxembourg Song Contest 2026.

The third edition of the Luxembourg Song Contest will take place on 24th January 2026, to choose which artist and song will represent the Grand Duchy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna, Austria.

A jury of international music professionals and creatives from the Eurovision world chose the eight finalists, following 83 song submissions to the Luxembourg Song Contest 2026 and a weekend of auditions involving 58 candidates.

Among the auditioning candidates, there were both well-known Luxembourgish artists as well as fresh faces to the scene.

The judges concluded the weekend by saying:

"We were impressed by the diversity of the acts who took part in the auditions. It’s so important that everyone had an equal chance to perform for the judges, which is what makes the Luxembourg Song Contest so special. Some of the artists who auditioned are just starting out in their musical careers, and we hope the experience, as well as the feedback from the jury, will help them to further develop their talents in the future. It was an honour for us to be part of the selection process and we wish each of the contestants all the best in their future careers."

The eight artists and entries competing in the Luxembourg Song Contest 2026 are:

  • Andrew the Martian - I'm The Martian (Songwriters: Ynke Dingenen, Tchiah Omar Abdulrahman, Rudolfs Budze, André Baptista)

  • Daryss - Melusina (Songwriters: Daria Sokova, Antoine Barrau, Alexandre Finkin, Boban Apostalov)

  • Eva Marija - Mother Nature (Songwriters: Eva Marija, Julie Aagaard, Maria Broberg, Thomas Stengaard)

  • Hugo One - Born Again (Songwriters: Albin Fredy Ljungqvist, Emil Ader Lei, Hugo Dejean, EDSUN)

  • Irem - Bad Decisions (Hush Hush) (Songwriters: Irem Sosay, Remy Cooper, Maria Broberg)

  • Luzac - Prison Dorée (Songwriters: Lucas Zagdoudi, Sam Ray, Ynke Dingenen, Tchiah Omar Abdulrahman)

  • Shirokuro - Eye to Eye (Songwriters: Nathanaël Paulis, Louis Comblin, Matias Pollicino)

  • Steve Castile - Sweet Tooth (Songwriters: Abi F Jones, Simon Davis, Steve Castile)

Luzac - Prison Dorée

Eurovision fans may remember Luzac from coming in third place in last year's edition of the Luxembourg Song Contest with Je Danse. This year, he will return to the Luxembourg Song Contest with his entry Prison Dorée. The song was inspired by the idea that although the singer lives a rich and fulfilling life, surrounded by close friends, a loving family, and an engaging job, part of him longs for something more: music.

“Like a little bird stuck in a golden cage, Prison Dorée expresses the feeling of being trapped in a life that looks perfect from the outside but feels restricting and overwhelming from within”, the artist explains.

Luzac fell in love with singing at the age of nine after watching High School Musical, and he spent years writing and composing songs for other artists before launching his own music career in 2021 with the single J'y Arriverai. He has collaborated with many Luxembourgish artists and performed at numerous festivals. Alongside his music career, Luzac works as a special education teacher in psycho-educational support.

Andrew the Martian - I'm The Martian

Born in Portugal and living in Luxembourg for the past ten years, Andrew the Martian is a self-taught artist who views music as the language of his emotions. From a young age, he has been captivated by the raw connection between performers and their audiences. Now, Andrew devotes himself entirely to music, cultivating diverse and authentic sounds.

When asked about his Luxembourg Song Contest 2026 entry, I'm The Martian, André says:

“Every melody and every lyric we created seemed to guide us toward the next step. It almost felt as if the song was coming to us from somewhere extraterrestrial. I’m The Martian explores the feeling of being an outsider, like a Martian on Earth, especially in moments when you feel misunderstood or when you move to a new place.”

Daryss - Melusina

Having studied at the Conservatoire of Dramatic Arts in Mons, Daryss comes from a theatre background, and storytelling through acting, singing, and dancing has motivated her since childhood. After being involved in numerous plays and musicals, Daryss is now focusing more on music to express her emotions and connect with others. She runs a theatre studio for children and adults, and also directs and teaches, while helping out in the family restaurant.

Co-written by one of the writers of Eurovision 2021 runner-up Voilà, Daria describes her Luxembourg Song Contest 2026 entry, Melusina, as “a true Eurovision adventure”, going on to say:

“Inspired by the enigmatic mermaid of Luxembourg, the song blends legend and inner rebirth.”

Eva Marija - Mother Nature

At the age of three, Eva Marija was inspired to start playing the violin after watching Alexander Rybak's Eurovision-winning performance of Fairytale. She has studied violin, singing, piano, and bass guitar at the Luxembourg Conservatory, pursuing a multi-disciplinary path across genres from classical to jazz and pop/rock. Born in Luxembourg to Slovenian parents, Eva Marija remains connected to both cultures and has been performing since the age of 14. She is currently studying songwriting in London.

Eva Marija's Luxembourg Song Contest entry Mother Nature is co-written by Eurovision-winning songwriter Thomas Stengaard, who also wrote Emmelie de Forest's Eurovision hit Only Teardrops, as well as many other Eurovision finalists including Andrew Lambrou's Break a Broken Heart.

Eva noted there was a special energy within her group of songwriters and said about Mother Nature:

"We based the song on the feeling of childhood, when you’d be playing carefree within parks and forests. Mother Nature uses nature as a symbol of hope, freedom and groundedness. It calls to reconnect with your inner child and let go of your fears.”

Can Eva Marija win the Luxembourg Song Contest in 2026 and add Eurovision glory to her list of accomplishments?

Hugo One - Born Again

Born and raised in the heart of Luxembourg, Hugo One discovered his passion for singing when he joined his school's choir at the age of six. His musical journey is influenced by Michael Jackson's soulful beats, George Michael's charisma, Beyoncé's powerhouse vocals, and the contemporary sounds of Dua Lipa and Australia's own Eurovision superstar Guy Sebastian. Alongside classical training, he’s performed on Luxembourg stages from the Philharmonie de Luxembourg to Den Atelier and Luxembourg Pride. His musical world blends soul, pop and disco, to move both body and heart. Outside of music, Hugo works as an event manager.

Hugo One will be making his Luxembourg Song Contest debut with the entry Born Again, a song which he explains is about healing and heartbreak and asks the question: "Who would you be if you could start over?"

Hugo says:

“They allowed me to be vulnerable and talk about my past. The energy in the room was electrifying, and I’m so proud of the song we wrote together. Like being Born Again, I’m ready for this next chapter in my life.”

Irem - Bad Decisions (Hush Hush)

Irem studied classical music theory and jazz dance at the Luxembourg Conservatory. She performed in several musicals with Kolléisch in Concert Musical before launching her own solo music career. Her debut EP Look At Me was released in 2023, followed by Diamonds & Birkins in 2025. She has been making a name for herself in the local music scene, regularly performing at festivals and venues across Luxembourg. She’s also currently pursuing a master’s degree in physics in Vienna.

At the start of the songwriting session for her Luxembourg Song Contest entry Bad Decisions (Hush Hush), songwriter Maria Broberg asked what was going on in Irem’s life, and Irem shared a little secret.

Irem says:

“They thought it was really exciting, and we were so motivated to turn it into a song that we finished it in just two hours!”

As for the secret, we won’t be finding out, because, as Irem explains with a mischievous smile, “it’s a little secret”.

ShiroKuro - Eye to Eye

ShiroKuro is a pop/rock trio based in Liège, whose members Matias Pollicino, Nathanaël Paulis, and the Luxembourger Louis Comblin met at the Royal Conservatory of Liège, where two earned master’s degrees in contemporary composition and one in percussion. They later specialised in concert production, artist management, and music production. All classically trained, Louis plays guitar and piano, Matthias is the drummer, and Nathanaël handles vocals and violin. Their debut EP In Sight was released in 2022.

Singer Nathanaël co-wrote ShiroKuro's Luxembourg Song Contest 2026 entry Eye to Eye along with his fellow band members, and set himself the challenge of including all the hallmarks of a Eurovision song, from a memorable hook to ethnic vocals, a string section, and a soaring high note.

“The idea was to write a pop-rock track that symbolises the current state of the world, especially through the eyes of young people”, explains Nathanaël.

“Eye To Eye is a song about living in a society that you don’t understand, creating states of paranoia within people, and how to deal with all of this.”

ShiroKuro will be hoping the audience will see "eye to eye" with them and that their entry Eye To Eye will lead them to a place in Luxembourgish Eurovision history!

Steve Castile - Sweet Tooth

Steve Castile discovered music through a piano app on his iPad, which was soon replaced by real instruments. He’s played guitar and piano for 15 years, later taking up songwriting and music production. Eight years ago, he added singing to his repertoire. Alongside music, Steve earned a bachelor’s in Psychology and is currently completing a master’s in Cultural Media Studies in Freiburg im Breisgau.

As an introduction during Steve's first meeting with his fellow songwriters, the singer kept it brief:

“I showed them my vocal range so they knew what they had to work with. When I demonstrated the subharmonic-type singing, Simon immediately jumped up and said: ‘Let’s start with that!’.”

It became the foundation of his Luxembourg Song Contest 2026 entry Sweet Tooth, which Steve summarises as “a dark, obsessive confession about loving someone who seems sweet but is actually bad for you.”
