Many details have been released on Lithuania’s Eurovision National Final for 2021.
The Lithuanian broadcaster LRT televizija (LRT) with use their 2020 national selection process ‘Pabandom iš Naujo!’ to decide on their Eurovision representative for 2021.
The band The Roop who were fan favourites to win the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with their infectious song ‘On Fire’ have been invited back to compete straight into the ‘Pabandom iš Naujo!’ final show. It will be The Roop’s third Lithuanian national final.
‘Pabandom iš Naujo!’ will consist of two heats which will take place on January 16 and 23 (January 17 and 24 in Australia). Then selected artists will compete in a semi-final on January 30 (January 31 in Australia) and then the winning artist will selected in a final on February 6 (February 7 in Australia).
Back in December 2020 LRT announced all the 23 artists that have been selected for ‘Pabandom iš Naujo!’. Today they have released the song titles and which heats the artists will compete in. This was confirmed by ESCplus through a press officer of the Lithuanian delegation.
The Roop will compete in the final with the song ‘Discoteque’.
There is no word yet when all the songs will be released, but some songs are already on YouTube with some about to premiere, we have added links to the released songs and premieres below.

One of the favourites of the Lithuanian national final Evelina Sašenko, who represented Lithuanian at Eurovision in 2011 with 'C'est ma vie' has unfortunately withdrawn due to travel restrictions in the country due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Today's announcement confirms that Gintarė Korsakaite has also withdrawn.
Lithuania first competed at Eurovision in 1994 with the entry ‘Lopšinė mylimai' by Ovidijus Vyšniauskas which unfortunately came last in Dublin with nul points. Their best result at Eurovision was in 2006 with the football chant inspired ‘We Are the Winners’ by LT United.
