Eurovision 2023 televote winner Käärijä and Finnish singing queen Erika Vikman have released their EPIC collaboration 'Ruoska', which translates to whip. Yes, you heard that right.
The pair will unleash their premiere performance of the new single as the interval act at Finland's Eurovision national final 'Uuden musiikin kilpailu 2024’ (UMK24).
Käärijä and Erika have been teasing the release with some very interesting videos on their social media accounts.
'Ruoska' is Käärijä's third music single release since he won the televote and finished in second place at Eurovision 2023 for Finland in Liverpool.
For Erika, this collaboration follows her single release 'Elizabeth Taylor' which dropped in November last year. She last competed at UMK in 2020 with her epic performance of 'Cicciolina' which finished in second place.
Both artists see themselves returning to the UMK stage. In a press release on the pair's upcoming performance of the new single, they shared their excitement.
"It’s absolutely amazing to return to the UMK stage, from where all this madness started last year. When we put two very distinctive characters on this same stage, it’ll surely be an unforgettable performance.” stated Käärijä.
“I’m very honoured to take the UMK stage now when the event has grown to be bigger than ever. We share a similar craziness and love for entertainment with Käärijä, and when we put all this together I promise it will be iconic!” revealed Erika.
Käärijä and Erika won't be the only guest acts performing with KUUMAA and UMK 2024 co-host Benjamin also set to take the stage.
UMK 2024 will take place on Saturday, February 10 at 20:00 CET (Sunday, February 11 at 6:00 AEDT for those in Australia) where Finland will be selecting their representative for Eurovision 2024.
'Ruoska' is available on music streaming platforms and for digital download.
