About the artist: Martina Crv
Martina Crv, whose last name is Cerevellin, is 12 years old and hails from Milan, Italy.
She is best known for competing in the second series of the Italian version of the The Voice Kids. She was mentored by Arisa and was eliminated in the Battle round of the competition. The winner of that season, Simone Grande, represented Italy at Junior Eurovision last year.
After her The Voice appearance, Martina won the title of Best European Junior Singer 2024 as part of the European Tour Music Fest.
In August she was selected to represent San Marino at Junior Eurovision after a casting process.
About the song: Beyond the Stars
Beyond the Stars is a country-pop song that is sung in both Italian and English.
The songwrtiers are Elisa Gaiotto, Karin Amadori, Paolo Siganini and Valerio Carboni.
In the song Martina sings about how she wishes she could be high amongst the stars as highlighted through the third line of the chorus, "I wanna fly up on my swing."
It seems that being amongst the stars provides solace for the singer from her problems down on earth, as elucidated through the lines "I would stay here for hours" and "[I would] not think about anything."
Indeed when is high up in the atmosphere Martina feels excited as demonstrated through the lines in the chorus, "My heart is beating right beyond the stars ... I'm jumping and I'm dancing on the stars."
San Marino in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
2025 will mark the fifth time San Marino has competed at Junior Eurovision.
The micro-state made its debut in 2013 with Michele Perniola performing O-o-O Sole intorno a me. He finished tenth, which remains San Marino's best placing at the contest. Michele is presently the only lead male vocalist to represent San Marino at Junior Eurovision.
San Marino competed in the 2014 and 2015 contests, and were represented by The Peppermints and Kamilla Ismailova respectively, before taking a hiatus from Junior Eurovision.
The country returned last year and were represented by Idols SM, a girl group who all hailed from San Marino. Their song Come noi finished last.
Martina Crv will be hoping to improve on the result by Idols SM in December.
