You can find details on the entry, the artist, and Portugal's history at Junior Eurovision below.
About the artist: Inês Gonçalves
Portugal’s Junior Eurovision 2025 representative is Inês Gonçalves. She is a 12-year-old singer from Alentejo. Inês has been learning and playing several instruments, including drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, violin, trumpet, piano, bass, ukulele, and transverse flute. When she's not involved in singing or playing her instruments, Inês enjoys swimming and dancing.
Inês has performed with Buba Espinho, who competed in Festival da Canção 2024 with O Farol, finishing in 6th place in the Portuguese final.
Inês competed in and won The Voice Kids Portugal, which secured her spot in Tbilisi to represent Portugal in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
About the song: Para Onde Vai o Amor?
Inês' song, Para Onde Vai o Amor? (translated into English as Where Does Love Go?), was written by Auora Pinto, Buba Espinho, João Direitinho, and Miguel Cristovinho. A slower ballad that seems to follow in the footsteps of Portugal's success in the Eurovision Song Contest this year with NAPA's Deslocado, the song draws heavily on the theme of love and loss.
Sung entirely in Portuguese, the song poses questions on what love is and what one should do with love and loss in their lives in the verses. In the chorus, the lyrics point to an impermanence of the loss, although the protagonist feels their memories are important to keep close in spite of their physical distance.
Portugal in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Portugal debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2006.
After finishing 14th and 16th in their first two years, they took a break until returning in 2017.
Since then they have competed each year, with their best result being last year's runner-up finish by Victoria Nicole with Esperança.
