The Netherlands has chosen the solo artist Meadow as their representative for Junior Eurovision 2025, competing with the song Freeze.
You can find details on the entry, the artist, and the history of The Netherlands at Junior Eurovision below.
About the artist: Meadow
Meadow Isselt, 14, won the national selection competition Junior Songfestival 2025. She secured her victory through a combination of votes from a professional jury, a kids jury, and public votes, earning the top 12 points across the board for a grand total of 36 points.
Hailing from Roermond in the south of The Netherlands near the German border, Meadow already has significant stage experience under her belt, having appeared in major musical productions of The Bodyguard and Frozen. Meadow also provided the Dutch voice of Princess Ariel in Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
Meadow currently attends music classes with fellow Junior Eurovision alumni Luna, who competed for The Netherlands in 2022.
Freeze is the debut single from the gifted pianist and dancer.
About the song: Freeze
The song was written and composed by the artist trio TalkSick (Daniel van der Molen, Elke Tiel, and Stas Swaczyna), who are notable contributors to the Dutch music scene.
An uptempo pop tune performed in both English and Dutch, Freeze blends some irresistibly catchy pop hooks with lyrics that urge listeners to slow down and appreciate the present moment, rather than getting swept up in life’s constant rush.
The writing team members have previously composed a number of songs together for Junior Songfestival, with Swaczyna responsible for co-writing the Dutch Junior Eurovision entries in 2016 and 2017.
Additionally, Tiel was a co-writer on the most recent Cypriot Eurovision entries - 2024's Liar and 2025's Shh.
The Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest
The Netherlands has participated in every edition of Junior Eurovision since the competition began in 2003, making it the only country to do so.
The country has held a popular televised competition Junior Songfestival each year since 2003 to select the best young representatives to send to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. 2016 is the only year where Junior Songfestival was not held, with The Netherlands opting instead for an internal selection.
Their greatest success came in 2009 when Ralf Mackenbach secured the country's first victory with his energetic and catchy song Click Clack. 2024 saw teen band Stay Tuned earn 10th place with their song Music.
The Netherlands are regarded as one of the more consistent performing countries in Junior Eurovision, so we look forward to seeing if Meadow can live up to these high standards come December!
