This year, Junior Eurovision 2025 host and powerhouse Georgia will be represented by Anita Abgariani with her song Shine Like a Star.
You can find details on the entry, the artist, and Georgia's history at Junior Eurovision below.
About the artist: Anita Abgariani
Anita Abgariani is 11 years old and is from Batumi, Georgia's second largest city. Anita is classically trained and studies piano at the Revaz Lagidze Music School. She has also been part of the vocal studio Children of the Sea since 2019, which is a vocal (and instrumental) music studio/choir for young Georgian talent. Anita's favourite pop stars are Billie Eilish and Rihanna.
In addition to singing and piano, Anita has spent three years training in gymnastics at Valentina Kuzmid’s Gymnastics School, where she earned multiple awards in group performances at regional and national competitions.
Georgia used its long-established national selection show Ranina to choose the 2025 Junior Eurovision contestant for Georgia. Ten artists performed over multiple rounds and were judged by a three-person jury who not only judged vocals but stage performance and artistry. Three acts including Anita were chosen for the grand final where Anita won the contest and her spot to be the 2025 Georgian Junior Eurovision Song Contest representative.
About the song: 'Shine Like a Star'
Shine Like a Star was composed by Giga Kukhianidze, with lyrics co-written by him and Mariam Ghvaladze. Giga Kukhianidze is responsible for all four of Georgia’s previous wins at Junior Eurovision.
The song blends Georgian and English lyrics and is a dramatic pop-ballad with a classical feel. Lyrically, Shine Like a Star carries a message of hope and unity with lyrics like “Shine like a star, let the world see the fire inside” and “Voices unite, we are not alone — together we rise” which emphasise strength through togetherness.
Georgia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Georgia has competed at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 18 times and is the most successful country at Junior Eurovision, having won the competition on four occasions in 2008, 2011, 2016 and 2024.
Songwriter Giga Kukhianidze really is the powerhouse behind the success of Georgia at the Junior Contest, and he is responsible for this year's entry also.
Georgia has finished in the top 10 an impressive 15 times. Last year, Georgia had their most recent win with Andria Putkaradze's To My Mom. As a result, Georgia is hosting Junior Eurovision this year in its capital city of Tblisi.
