Croatia makes its return to Junior Eurovision this year with their entrant Marino Vrgoč and his song Snovi.
About the Artist: Marino Vrgoč
One of the youngest entrants this year, ten-year-old Marino attends school in a small town on the Dalmatian coast. He is a member of his school’s choir and drama group. Outside of school Marino has a love of football and greatly admires Christiano Ronaldo. He also takes lessons in piano and karate. He has said that when he grows up he would like to be a doctor, because he loves to help people.
Marino recently won the inaugural season of The Voice Kids Croatia, for which his prize was a Universal Music group publishing contract to record a single, as well as a trip for himself and his family.
About the Song: Snovi
A traditional and tender ballad, Snovi ("Dreams") was composed by Ines Prajo, with lyrics by Arjana Kunštek and Marino himself. Prajo and Kunštek have a long list of song credits dating back to the mid-90’s, and eagle-eyed Eurovision fans might recognise their names from the contest’s past.
They worked together on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s 2003 entry Ne brini by Mija Martina, as well as Croatia’s 2017 entry My Friend by Jacques Houdek. Prajo has also worked on singles with Croatia’s 2016 entrant and winner of the first season of The Voice Croatia Nina Kraljić.
With themes about dreams and aspirations, the song embodies the youthfulness of Junior Eurovision and its artists. "I find the song very beautiful, gentle and very relevant to children,” Marino said of the song. “But it can also be suitable for adults."
Croatia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest
Croatia was the first winner of Junior Eurovision all the way back in 2003, with Ti si moja prva ljubav (You Are My First Love) by Dino Jelusić. 2025 will mark their first entry at Junior Eurovision in 11 years, with 2014’s Game Over by Josie landing them in 16th (last) place with just 13 points.
We can’t wait to see if Marino will make Croatia’s return to the contest a spectacular one!
