Junior Eurovision 2023 Ukraine profile: 'Kvitka' by Anastasia Dymyd

This year, Ukraine will be represented at Junior Eurovision in Nice by Anastasia Dymyd, who will be performing her catchy song 'Kvitka'.

About the artist: Anastasia Dymyd


Anastasia Dymyd is just nine years old and is from the village of Hoshiv, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine. She got the opportunity to represent Ukraine at Junior Eurovision after winning the country's national selection process. Anastasia finishing in second place with the jury vote and first place in the public vote.


Despite her young age, Anastasia has already participated in and won multiple children's vocal competitions. Just this year, she finished in first place for a ‘Modern Folk Performance’ in the Black Sea Games 2023.


On top of singing, Anastasia also enjoys drawing, dancing, spending time with her family and playing with friends.

About the song: 'Kvitka'


Anastasia will be performing the song 'Kvitka', meaning "flower" in Ukrainian, in Nice. The song was written and composed by Svitlana Tarabarova.


Svitlana is a 33-year-old Ukrainian singer, songwriter, music producer and actress. 'Kvitka' was one of three songs by Svitlana which competed in the Ukrainian Junior Eurovision national final.


Ukraine in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest


Ukraine made its first appearance at Junior Eurovision in 2006 and has competed every single year since. Ukraine won the contest in 2012 with the song 'Nebo' performed by Anastasiya Petryk. They have also finished in the runner-up spot in 2008 and 2013, as well as finishing in the top 10 a dozen times.


Ukraine has also had the honour of hosting the event in Kyiv on two occasions, the first time being in 2009 and then again in 2013 after their first win.


Junior Eurovision 2023 will be held in Nice, France on 26 November 2023 (27 November 2023 in Australia).
