About the entry: 'Holding on to you'

At 'Junior Songfestival 2023', the Dutch Junior Eurovision National Final, Sep & Jasmijn were paired together after the audition round of the process. The pair received all "12 points" from the children's jury, professional jury, and televote, winning the ticket to Nice with 36 points, 7 points ahead of the runners-up, Joy.

'Holding on to you' is written and composed by Robert Dorn. He has worked on previous Dutch entries such as Unity’s 'Best Friend' and Luna's 'La Festa', both of which finished top 10 in their respective editions of Junior Eurovision.

The Netherlands at Junior Eurovision

The Netherlands is the only nation to have taken part in every edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since its inception in 2003. The country has won the contest once and has hosted twice, back in 2007 in Rotterdam and most recently in 2012 in Amsterdam.

The Dutch won Junior Eurovision in 2009 with Ralf Mackenbach performing 'Click Clack'. In 2011, the country narrowly missed out on the trophy to Georgia when Rachel performed 'Teenager'. The Netherlands has finished in 4th place on three occasions, in 2017, 2019, and 2020.

Junior Eurovision 2023 will be held in Nice on 26 November 26 2023 (27 November 2023 in Australia).
