Jonas Lovv wins Melodi Grand Prix to represent Norway at Eurovision 2026

Jonas Lovv has won Melodi Grand Prix 2026 with his song Ya Ya Ya and with it the ticket to represent Norway at Eurovision in Austria in May.


Winning both the jury and televote, Jonas prevailed over eight other acts. Second place was taken by three time MGP participant and 2009 Eurovision winner Alexander Rybak with his song Rise. Emma's Northern Lights finishined in 3rd place with Northern Lights.


Jonas Lovv rose to national attention after competing on The Voice Norway in 2025, captivating both coaches and viewers with his distinctive vocals and commanding stage presence. He is recognised for his dynamic energy, individual style, and his natural ability to build a genuine connection with his audience.

Held at HÃ¥kons Hall in Lillehammer, the final was hosted by Ronny Brede Aase, Marte Stokstad and Markus Neby. 2025 winner Kyle Alessandro opened the show with a performance of his winning song Lighter.


The winner was determined by 60% public vote (Norwegian viewers) and 40% international jury vote.


Norway will compete in the second half of the second semi-final which will be held on Thursday 14 May CET.
