Isaiah Firebrace releases children's book 'Come Together'



Australia's Eurovision 2017 representative Isaiah Firebrace has released his first children's book 'Come Together'.


'Come Together: Things Every Aussie Kid Should Know about the First Peoples' is inspired by Isaiah's petition to the Australian Government calling for Aboriginal history to be taught in every classroom. Isaiah who is a Yorta Yorta and Gunditjmara man spent the last year putting the book together.


The book establishes a foundation of First Nations knowledge with 20 key topics. Alongside bright and contemporary illustrations by Mununjali and Fijian artist Jaelyn Biumaiwai. Isaiah connects the reader to each topic through his own personal story and culture, from the importance of Elders, the Dreaming, Welcome to Country and Acknowledgement of Country, the meaning of Songlines and the rich diversity of First Peoples’ languages and clans, and the Indigenous origins of AFL.


In a statement about 'Come Together' Isaiah said:


“I’m really passionate about making sure all kids in school get to learn about Aboriginal history”.

In other news Isaiah has released a new Christmas single called ‘First Christmas’. The release comes a day after the release of his new book. The song is self-penned and produced by Jude York from Australia Decides 2022. It is available for download and streaming.
