To celebrate Mattel making a Barbie version of our Aussie Queen of Pop, the incredible Kylie, Aussievision has gone down a rabbit hole and found there has been several Eurovision alumni that have had Barbies or dolls made of them. The list is longer than you might think!
Sakis Rouvas (Greece 2005 and 2009)
Greece's biggest popstar, Sakis Rouvas, has been immortalised in a doll not once, but twice! After his iconic 2005 performance at Eurovision with Shake it, company Imago managed the production of the 12" doll to celebrate Sakis' Eurovision performance. There is also a second version of a Sakis doll, which is a limited edition and often came with its own DVD.
Both are now collectors' items and are considered rarities. Aussievision team member Kyriakos is lucky enough to have one of these in his Eurovision collection!

Ukrainian Queens
Ruslana (2004 winner), Gaitana (2012) and Alyona Alyona (2024)

As part of an exhibition in Odessa in 2021, 36 Barbie dolls were created based off famous Ukrainian women who have been trailblazers in their field. Of the dolls, there are three previous Eurovision contestants in the collection.
Ruslana is pretty much a national hero in Ukraine, responsible for bringing Ukraine their first Eurovision win in 2004, and her doll is based off her 2004 Wild Dances performance. Gaitana (2012 - Be my guest) also has a doll, as does Alyona Alyona (2024 - Teresa & Maria) who at the time of the 2021 exhibition, had not yet competed in the Contest.

Madrid Fashion Doll Show
Chanel (Spain 2022), Nina Kraljić (Croatia 2016), Sheldon Riley (Australia 2022) and Eleni Foureira (Cyprus 2018)

The Madrid Fashion Doll Show is an annual collector convention in Madrid organised by members of the Spanish Barbie collector club.
Each convention typically includes multiple official dolls, all produced in small limited runs specifically for attendees or event use.
In 2022, the convention produced a few Eurovision themed dolls, and to complement the Eurovision theme that year, there were several original one-of-a-kind dolls created by very talented convention attendees, which included our very own Sheldon Riley.

ABBA (Sweden 1974)
ABBA, one of the most iconic pop groups in history, became a merchandising powerhouse during and after their Eurovision success, with a wide range of products celebrating their fame. Their merchandise included everything from posters, albums, and clothing to board games and novelty items. Among these collectibles were ABBA dolls released in 1977 and styled to resemble the members with Agnetha and Frida in the iconic cat-dresses. For the keen ABBA fan, other outfits were available for purchase as well.
These items are highly collectable, with a full set of the four dolls in excellent condition and still in the boxes fetching over $3,800 AUD.

Olivia Newton-John (United Kingdom 1974)
Another 1974 Eurovision entrant, our very own Olivia Newton-John was also made into a Barbie. To celebrate 25 years since the movie 'Grease' was released, Mattel released a range of dolls were created with several version of Sandy made.

Laura Thorn (Luxembourg 2025)
Last year, Luxembourg's broadcaster RTL launched a rather clever competition for fans to make their own doll that resembled Laura so she could take it on her Eurovision journey. While we unfortunately cannot find any pictures of these dolls, we can all agree that Laura is a living doll and that doll house staging of hers last year was ah-maz-ing!
