Georgia release their entry by Tornike Kipiani for Eurovision 2020

Earlier today the Georgian entry for this years Eurovision Song Contest, ‘Take Me As I Am’, was revealed on Georgian morning television. During the ‘Good Day’ show, Tornike Kipiani’s song was first aired, after he joined the show for a period as a panelist.

Joining Tornike on the show was Emilia Sandquist, a member of the Sacha Jean-Baptiste Creative Group, who will direct the stage performance for Georgia in Rotterdam. Whilst plans for the staging are still forming, Emilia told the hosts that a ‘strong and modern’ staging was in the works, to reflect the song.

Tornike Kipiani was chosen last year as Georgia’s entrant for 2020, when he won Georgian Idol. This year marks the second consecutive year where Georgian Public Broadcaster, the Georgian participating broadcaster, have used the talent show to select their representative, following Oto Nemsadze selection for the 2019 contest. However, unlike Oto’s song ‘Keep On Going’, which he won his edition of Georigan Idol with, Tornike’s entry has been internally selected following his win back in December.

Georgia will be looking to turn their luck around for this year’s contest, having failed to qualify to the grand final on their last three attempts.
