Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga - Official trailer release

With only two weeks to go until its big release, Netflix have revealed the official trailer to ‘Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga’.

The feel-good comedy film is about two Icelandic small-town singers Lars Erickssong (Will Ferrell) and Sigrit Ericksdottir (Rachel McAdams), who together form the duo Fire Saga. They get an opportunity of a lifetime to represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest, where high stakes, scheming rivals and onstage mishaps test their bond.

The trailer predominantly features their arch-rival Russian singer Alexander Lemtov portrayed by Dan Stevens. The film also features Pierce Brosnsan as Lars’s father Erick, Demi Lovato as Katiana and Graham Norton as himself.

The buzz around the film has been building up over the last few weeks. Several Eurovision stars have even got into the action releasing covers of ‘Volcano Man’, the first single release from the film featuring Will Ferrell and Molly Sandén as My Marianne.

So far we have seen these Eurovision stars deliver their take on the song:

  • Eurovision 2009 winner Alexander Rybak with his violin version

  • Eurovision 2016 winner Jamala with her acoustic cover

  • Estonian Eurovision 2018 representative Elina Nechayeva with her operatic version

  • Moldovan Eurovision 2019 representative Anna Odobescu with her powerful vocal cover version

  • Icelandic Eurovision 2020 representative Daði Freyr with his iconic trademark sound

For a little treat we will leave you with a few covers right here:

‘Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga’ will be shown exclusively through the streaming service Netflix from June 26.
