Eurovision 2026: What's on in Vienna for fans?

As Eurovision fans count down the number of sleeps to the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest week in Vienna, many tourists are making the trip over to Austria's capital city and planning their itineraries for the week.
The host city of the 70th Eurovision Song Contest has gone all-out to prepare an array of dedicated events and activities for Eurovision fans (also known as Eurofans)!
We can safely say there will be no shortage of things for Eurofans to see and do throughout the week in Vienna, and we've compiled as many of them as possible in this guide, with further details to be announced throughout the week.

The Eurofan Essentials
These events and activities are a staple in every Eurovision host city, and the Eurovision Song Contest experience isn't the same without them!
Eurovision Opening Ceremony and the Turquoise Carpet

Held on Sunday 10 May at City Hall Square (Rathausplatz), the Eurovision Opening Ceremony will officially kick off the 70th anniversary edition of the Contest. The star-studded event will feature all of this year's Eurovision artists making their appearances on the Turquoise Carpet, meeting and greeting media and fans with their head-turning looks.
All 35 delegations will be welcomed by the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra and JJ's 2025 Eurovision-winning song Wasted Love. Eurodance legend Haddaway, of What Is Love fame, will be performing at the post-show Eurovision party.
Please note that strict security measures, including a no-bag policy, are in effect for this event.
Eurovision Village

The Eurovision Village in City Hall Square (Rathausplatz) will be open daily from Monday 11 May - Saturday 16 May, from 2pm until midnight or the end of the show, free of charge, while space lasts.
The Eurovision Village will feature live screenings of the televised Eurovision shows on Tuesday 12 May, Thursday 14 May, and Saturday 16 May, as well as live performances throughout the week from Eurovision acts such as 2006 Contest winner Lordi, Tommy Cash, Erika Vikman, 2026 San Marino Eurovision artist Senhit, and more.
Fans will also be delighted by a diverse DJ lineup, exhilarating culinary offerings, and ESC-Morning on Thursday 14 May (a public holiday in Austria) from 11am.

Euro-Club

After the Eurovision evening jury shows and live shows, Euro-Club provides the official after-party for the contest! Taking place at the Prater DOME, Vienna's largest nightclub, parties will take place from Monday to Saturday (May 11-16). Guests can dance to Eurovision hits, with a different theme each day.
Many past Eurovision acts will perform at Euroclub throughout the week, including Australia's 2025 Eurovision artist Go-Jo, along with Eurovision 2025 winner JJ, Erika Vikman, Abor & Tynna, Vaeb, and more!

Public Screenings

In addition to free public screenings (subject to capacity) at the Eurovision Village, Eurovision screening parties for all semi-finals and the final (except where specified) will be held at various venues around the city, including:

Eat & Drink
Whether you're a Milkshake Man, an Espresso Macchiato connoisseur, or simply wish to Eat Your Salad in peace, there are plenty of gastronomic delights in the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest host city that will satisfy Eurofans from all around the world!
Eurofan Cafés

From May 3-17, 21 coffeehouses across Vienna are turning into Eurofan Cafés for each of the participating countries in this year's Eurovision Song Contest, hosting one (or sometimes two!) country's delegations, their friends, and fans. Planned activities include traditional food and drinks from the respective countries, live music, meet-and-greet events with artists, and more.
Australia's Eurofan Café is the appropriately Aussie-themed pub (pictured above), Crossfields.
In addition to live viewing parties of the televised Eurovision semi-finals and final, Crossfields will be holding a Pub Quiz on Monday 11 May from 8pm, as well as a Music & Breakfast event on Friday 15 May.

Eurovision Market Contest at the Naschmarkt

The Eurovision Market Contest will take place at the famous Naschmarkt on Wednesday 13 May from 2pm-7pm. Fans can taste specialties from participating countries, enjoy live music with iconic Eurovision hits, and much more.
"Come on, everybody, let's sing along!"
If you "kill at karaoke" just like the United Kingdom's 2026 Eurovision contestant LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER, be sure to warm up your vocal cords and put on your dancing shoes for these Eurovision musical extravaganzas!
WL x Eurovision Song Contest Sound Lounge

On Monday 11 May, from 6pm-9pm at Karlsplatz, in front of the Otto Wagner Pavilions, a tram will become an open stage for the WL x Jam Session event. Here, rotating groups of various sizes perform as "spontaneous bands" and play improvised concerts in a variety of musical genres, from jazz and funk to soul, reggae, and hip-hop.
On Wednesday 13 May, and Friday 15 May from 4pm to 10pm, the tram will transform into a karaoke stage for everyone. Fans can sing along to well-known Eurovision classics and hits loud and proud at this event!
Both events at the WL x Eurovision Song Contest Sound Lounge are free.
ESC Singalong

In the run-up to the Eurovision Grand Final, the Vienna Volkskoper invites audiences to take part in three evenings of large-scale sing-alongs in front of the theatre, on Monday 11 May at 6:30pm, as well as Wednesday 13 May and Friday 15 May at 6:00pm. Admission is free and everyone is welcome to join in!
Of course, fans won't be singing alone, as the Volksoper Chorus will be there to take audiences on a musical journey through Eurovision's history, singing hits such as ABBA's Waterloo, Johnny Logan's Hold Me Now, and many more musical surprises.
Eurovision Cruise

DDSG Blue Danube is running Eurovision cruises on the Danube river from Saturday 9 May, with three daily departures during the day, and one night-time Eurovision cruise.
Featuring international DJs, energetic dance beats, and a relaxed onboard atmosphere, the Eurovision cruise promises to be a one-of-a-kind experience only offered during this special Eurovision week. Get all the details and book tickets here.

Museums, Exhibits and more
Eurovision fans can take some time to marvel at some unique pieces of Eurovision history and learn more about the Contest's 70-year-long journey.
Visit Eurofan House at Wien Museum

During the day from May 11-16, Eurovision fans can meet up at Eurofan House at the Wien Museum in the centrally-located Karlsplatz. Many free activities, including panel discussions, talks, and presentations, will take place in the event space on the terrace level (third floor).
Throughout Eurovision week, many of this year's Eurovision artists are expected to stop by. Australia's 2026 Eurovision artist, Delta Goodrem, will make a special guest appearance at Eurofan House at 4pm CEST on Monday 11 May.

Unstoppable! Eurovision Song Highlights at hdgö

At the House of Austrian History, or hdgö, the contemporary history museum in Hofburg, you can see pieces of Austria's Eurovision Song Contest history throughout the years.
From Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst's dress worn at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, to the stage design for JJ's Eurovision-winning performance of Wasted Love, and images of the 1967 Eurovision Song Contest in the Neue Hofburg Palace, the display shows the close connection between the song contest and changes in politics, identities, and society over time.
The exhibit runs from 25 March - 11 October 2026. Your ticket to hdgö will get you discounted entry to QWIEN and vice-versa from 25 March until 24 May 2026.
Voices of Nature: Eurovision Song Contest of the Animals

The Museum of Natural History in Vienna is celebrating the Eurovision Song Contest in an unusual way, hosting the exhibit Voices of Nature: Eurovision Song Contest of the Animals. Showcasing biodiversity and musical diversity, this exhibit links animal voices with animals from all 35 participating countries at this year's Contest. There's even a chance to vote for your favourite animal, as well as interactive social media moments.
The Museum of Natural History will be open from 9am - 6pm each day during Eurovision week, with extended opening hours on Tuesday and Wednesday, when the museum will close at 8pm. For more details, including ticket information, click here.
United by Queerness at QWIEN
From Jean-Claude Pascal's secret love in 1961, to Dana International, to Conchita Wurst's triumph in 2014, queer history comes alive at QWIEN, Vienna's queer cultural centre, and their special Eurovision exhibit United By Queerness.
Structured around three main perspectives of the living room, the arena, and the stage, United by Queerness explores how Eurovision is experienced, celebrated, and interpreted.
This exhibit is open on Thursday from 1pm - 8pm and Monday-Sunday from 1pm - 6pm.
Kunstschatzi goes Eurovision Song Contest
If evening events and art galleries are more your style, check out Kunstschatzi goes Eurovision Song Contest! The event will take place on Wednesday 13 May from 7pm-11pm, with various 30-minute guided tours with art educators, offered in German or English, running every half-hour. The ticket price also grants access to a cocktail bar in the Kuppelhalle, as well as DJs from Radio Rudina to get the dancefloor shaking! Please note that only card payments are accepted at the bars.

Download the ivie app

The ESC Challenge features a digital treasure hunt through Vienna that lets you follow in the footsteps of the Eurovision Song Contest using your smartphone. As part of the challenge, you'll need to visit six special places in Vienna that are closely connected to Eurovision, checking in using your smartphone to earn points for the challenge by answering three quiz questions at each location.
These points will also give you the chance to win prizes, including a hand-fan (while supplies last), and an entry in the draw for the grand prize - a weekend in Vienna for two at the Jaz in the City Wien hotel from Friday to Sunday.
