Eurovision 2026: Bucharest Pre-party preview

The pre-party season for Eurovision 2026 is in full swing, next stop Bucharest!

This weekend sees four artists competing at Eurovision 2026 heading to Eurovision Pre-Party Bucharest 2026, including home hero Alexandra Căpitănescu.

The party takes place 18 April and is hosted at Arenele Romane, a spectacular outdoor arena in the heart of Bucharest.

This year sees the debut of a Romanian pre-party, created by organisers eMagic in collaboration with TVR, AIMR and OGAE Romania.

The 2026 artists taking part are:

1. Bulgaria: Dara - Bangaranga

2. Greece: Akylas - Ferto

3. Malta: Aidan - Bella

4. Romania: Alexandra Căpitănescu - Choke Me

Guest performers:

• Monica Angel – (Romania Eurovision 1996 & 2002)

• Ovi (Romania Eurovision 2010 & 2014)

• Paula Seling (Romania Eurovision 2010 & 2014)

• Jamala (Ukraine Eurovision 2016)

Romania at Eurovision

And they’re back! After missing the past two years for financial reasons, Romania have returned to Eurovision in 2026.

This year marks Romania's 24th participation at Eurovision after first debuting back 1994.

They have made the top 10 six times in that time including finishing third twice - first in 2005 with Let Me Try by Luminita Anghel and Sistem and then Playing with Fire by Paula Seling and Ovi. Their worst result was in 2023 where they finished with zero points in their semi-final.
